My stay with Marco was short but I can describe it as fun and was worth the trip. Location is very tranquil, beautiful, and remote (he volunteered to pick me up from the bus stop in Bagn).

Being solo did not bother me at all. He is respectful and safe. And yes I agree, you have to cracked his code. His humor….

Emilio, A kind hearted soul, that picks up things pretty fast. Great to work with and even my humor can be though sometimes, he got it at the end. it was always nice to wake up and hear him play his instrument, even my neighbors enjoyed that.
Workaway host work different from each other, i know and i do it my way i make sure when you work for me
… read more you get good and healthy food, no can food, no chemical powder food but fresh, and made from scratch and i always make more than enough so nobody goes hungry to sleep. If it is in my means and you don't have transportation i will show you around and even use workdays to do so. and if we go out to a restaurant i pay for the food. I don't give food on the days of because most go hiking or see the surroundings on their days of.
For me it is important that people learn to think for themselves, and find a proper solution, and did you do it wrong or not save , no problem than we do it over and my way, but i believe you get more out of it when you try it first within the stramin i gave you. to learn is to make mistakes. nobody is perfect, and I for one am far from it. I teach, i lead with the hope when you leave you have a bag full of new skills. My opinions are mine and i think we are all unique and have the right to form your own. don't follow blindly in life when someone say jump, ask...think...why ? I stayed with Marc for 10 days
in the beautiful mountains of Valdres, if you are planning to go, be aware that the public transport it's quite limited, the good thing is that Marc picked me up in the bus stop.

… read more perfect place if you want to know about bushcraft Marc have a lot of knowledge, he likes making people think, sometimes could be hard but he challenges you, and that's what we need to grow and to expand our horizons, on the free days he don't give you food, for me was a little bit rare, mostly of the Workaways gives you food, but he can take you to the supermarket, so it's okey, just be aware of that, I stayed in the cabin, very nice and basic place, Marc had to work on my free days, so I was by myself most of the day, it was a bit hard for me because of the weather, and also the place is remote so you have to walk long distance with rain, there's a beautiful waterfall we're you can take a shower, Marc also allow you to take one on his shower;)
he's a really good cooker specially on the evenings haha, most of the mornings there was just porridge with vanilla and cinnamon, don't get me wrong that was enough for me, he also took us to fagernes and we ate a pizza, really cool day;)
as the others feedback says, Marco have a special humor, at the beginning I really struggle to understand it, and it was really hard for me, till the point that I reach a limit and showed my emotions, that's another thing that I learn, expression, and if you express to Marc that he's going to far he will stop and respect you, that made me stay longer that I was thinking haha,

Wow, a storm of energy, again some one that knows who she is and like what she does. i wish i had that much energi again. she is a hard worker and i really had to say stop. came in wintertime, and she had to deal with cold and snow. no problem , she went for hikes, skitrips and walk on the snow shoes. even made a pair. good social skills and easy

I wrote to Marc on Saturday and he answered me right away, so I could arrive on Monday. That was very important for me, because I had to cancel early at my originally planed stay. The nature in this area is really beautiful – nice forests, rivers, lakes, mountains and a loooot of space to calm down and enjoy yourself. I painted the greenhouse and we worked together building the garage, which turned out pretty great. Also we had a funny trip to the dump and a memorable drive through the norwegian mountains after that.
Marc is a really decent guy, sometimes a little bit annoying, but he knows that :-) His humor is great and also can be a lot, but it is never really at the expense of others. Also, and I think these are very rare and worthy qualities, he is honest, keeping his word and knows, when it’s not the time for jokes, but for being considerate. If you are open to it, you can learn a lot from him – he has impressive bushcraft skills and amazing craftsmanship! His ideas and plans are great – building a place for people (who maybe haven’t had as much luck as others) to learn in and from a beautiful nature and explore their own strength and limits, maybe getting surprised by the effects. I know for a fact that this man and this place are an El Dorado, worth taking for adventurers.
Bathing in the river, cooking above an open fire and doing heavy labor with your bare hands (and "grey cells" is not for everyone.

… read more back to nature, where his energy can be free. Where he stands tall like a boulder, formed by the cracks and crevices of his past. Here people can sharpen their minds to, find new parts of themselves and clash against.
His vision is to 'reform' this boulder in to a shape fit for helping people, but he needs minds who can think on their own for this, to carve the stone.
I certainly found adventure and have great new experience in my backpack. I am grateful for this place and Marco for giving those.

We stayed for two weeks at Marco's place and like he already said it was just to short to learn more about the topic bushcraft. Marco is a man who is openhearted and always a good listener and good adviser. He will will tease you and have maybe sometimes a crazy sense of humor, but he always stays at your side, is very honest and cares about you the whole time.
We probably never learned in such a short time as much as at Marco's place, there was so much concentrated knowledge about many topics! But there was still enough time for games in the evenings and good long chats.
Oh, and not to forget about it: he has a gorgeous equipped workshop, a really well-behaved dog and last but not least: the food was amazing!!!

The work wasn’t hard at all. Marc doesn’t like to exploit people and is open to teach things you’re not familiar with. There is a lot you can learn from him since he’s done so much in life.

I really enjoyed his bushcraft lessons. We even had a chance to put them to practice when Marc took us camping.
Apart from that we did lots of other fun things; fishing, swimming, making fire, baking cookies and playing games being some of them.

… read more beautiful and Marco was relaxed with working hours, meaning that we could leave early on Fridays and return later on Mondays from mini trips to the surrounding national parks. There are some amazing sights and hikes within a couple of hours drive which are well worth a visit! Marco was really helpful and lent us things we needed for our trips, as well as helping with directions and printing out maps. Also we were fed really well during our stay, Marco cooked delicious evening meals and provided plenty of food for breakfast. What i appreciate a lot: Marco sees you as a person, and not as a workforce! You can talk with him reasonable and communicate!
Not the work:
I got a lot of space and time to do my own staff. The nature around is sooo beautiful: Hills, forest and a lot of water ( Lakes, rivers). But having a beer with Marco at the fire was also a nice opportunity :)
