Pedro came to our program in central Florida to assist with hurricane recovery and do home repairs for vulnerable families in this community. Pedro spent two weeks with us, living with us, working with us, and participating in our activities. From the time of his arrival to the time of his departure, he was a fantastic addition to our program. He

Wherever Pedro goes, I feel confident that he will bring these qualities with him. He is a bright light, with so much to offer.

It was my first time volunteering abroad with this organization. I participated in a variety of activities over the course of two weeks.
During the morning meeting, teams are split into several houses, installing dry walls, painting, nailing, and more. You learn a lot. The day ends around 2 or 3 p.m. with another short meeting, followed by free

I found everything to be very well organized, and everyone was very friendly and willing to answer any questions I had.
A variety of food is always available in the kitchen for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. You can cook if you wish, although dinner is provided by the organization Monday through Friday.
Anyone interested in volunteering should definitely give it a try.

I recently spent two weeks in Hudson, Florida volunteering with the Hurricane Milton Relief program through this place, and it was an incredibly rewarding and memorable experience. The staff was excellent, and the sense of community made it truly feel like I was home.
The staff and other volunteers were very welcoming and supportive. There was

Workdays began around 8:00 AM with a morning meeting, followed by traveling to different project sites by 8:30 AM. We took a break for lunch around noon and typically wrapped up on-site work by 4:00 PM, with a short debrief meeting held around 4:30 PM.
The type of work varied throughout the week, depending on the needs of each project. Fortunately, training was provided, so no prior experience was necessary. I was able to contribute to a range of projects including mucking and gutting, drywall sanding, food pantry support, and insulation installation. Though some tasks were physically demanding, the sense of fulfillment and the practice of writing encouraging notes to one another at the end of each day made my experience a million times better.
Evenings were free for rest or socializing with other volunteers. I had the opportunity to explore Hudson and enjoy its beautiful beaches and local shops with other volunteer members.
A heartfelt thank you to the entire staff. I’m incredibly grateful for all I learned and for the kindness and dedication shown by everyone involved. I highly recommend the place to anyone looking to make a meaningful impact in communities affected by natural disasters. You’ll meet some of the most compassionate and generous individuals you'll ever encounter.Comentarios
