  Come and help us get our little hobby farm ready for winter
  
  A few years ago I was able to fulfill my dream of living on a small farm: by a lake, in the middle of the forest in beautiful Sweden, about 8 miles northwest of Östersund. My name is Edith-Maria, I am 60+ and I look forward to visits from nature-loving people who can enjoy it when the nearest neighbour lives 3 kilometers away.
  
  Right outside the courtyard door you can swim in the lake, go boating or pick wild blueberries in the forest. In the meadows next to the river, cranes breed in summer and moose and reindeer welcome in winter. Just the right thing for people with a longing for a break and enthusiasm for new experiences! Especially those in the wild, which are not to be found so often anymore. For me, life in rhythm with nature is clearly in the foreground.
  
  If you want to immerse yourself in nature for a few days on a farm in solitude in the middle of the forest, you are in good hands with me. In order for you to feel good and enjoy your stay, you should be fit and enjoy exercise and physical activity. If you have back problems, you're not really in a good position here.
  
  Zu mir:
  Vor ein paar Jahren durfte ich mir meinen Traum von der kleinen Hobby-Farm erfüllen: an einem See, mitten im Wald im schönen Schweden, ca. 8 Meilen nordwestlich von Östersund. Ich heiße Edith-Maria, bin 60+ und freue mich auf Besuche von naturverbundenen Menschen, die es genießen können, wenn der nächste Nachbar 3 Kilomenter entfernt wohnt.
  
  Direkt vor der Hoftür kannst du im See baden, Bootfahren oder im Wald wilde Blaubeeren pflücken. Auf den Wiesen nebenan am Fluss brüten im Sommer die Kraniche und im Winter begrüßen Elch und Ren. Genau das Richtige für Menschen mit Sehnsucht nach einer Auszeit und Begeisterung für neue Erfahrungen! Vor allem solche in wilder Natur, die es heute nicht mehr so oft zu finden gibt. Bei mir steht ganz eindeutig das Leben im Rhytmus mit der Natur im Vordergrund.
  
  Wenn du Lust hast, einmal für ein paar Tage in ein naturverbundenes Leben auf einem Bauernhof in Alleinlage mitten im Wald einzutauchen, bist du bei mir gut aufgehoben. Damit es dir dabei gut geht und du deinen Aufenthalt genießen kannst, solltest du fit sein und Freude an Bewegung und körperlichen Aktivitäten haben. Wer Rückenprobleme hat, ist hier nicht wirklich gut aufgehoben.

  My passion is the many wild herbs on my doorstep, which I collect and recycle. They are treasures, grown in pure air on healthy soil. You are welcome to help with harvesting and processing and if you are interested, I will tell you more about it.
  If you like to eat mushrooms and want to collect them yourself you are right here.
  This place is more suited for nature lovers than for culture lovers, but here we still have an intact village community with its own clubhouse and Swedish traditions. If you wish, you can participate.
  
  Meine Leidenschaft sind die vielen Wildkräuter direkt vor der Haustüre, die ich sammle und verwerte. Sie sind Kostbarkeiten, gewachsen an reiner Luft auf gesundem Boden. Gerne darfst du bei Ernte und Verarbeitung helfen und wenn es dich interessiert, erzähle ich auch mehr darüber.
  Wenn du gerne Pilze isst und sie selber sammeln möchtest bist du hier genau richtig.
  Dieser Platz ist zwar eher für Naturmenschen denn für Kulturmenschen geeignet, aber hier leben wir noch eine intakte Dorfgemeinschaft mit eigenem Vereinshaus und schwedischen Traditionen. Wenn du es möchtest, kannst du daran teilhaben.

  My life in rhythm with nature (seasons)
  I look forward to visitors all year round, as each season has its own rhythm in the forest. I am happy to share my knowledge about the seasonal nature. If you would like to learn more in advance, please feel free to contact me and ask your questions.

  Assuming you love animals and aren't afraid of affectionate goats and my two friendly dogs.
  
  I would appreciate some help with the house, yard, and garden.
  • in the spring, stock the garden and do minor painting work on the house and shed;
  • mowing the lawn in the summer
  • in the fall, collecting berries and preserving garden fruits and
  • in winter, bring in the wood for the year after next.
  And, of course, help is always welcome in the house. Sometimes I just miss a few more hands to help out. You are also most welcome!
  
  Meaningful - good to know!
  Please bring an outfit suitable for each season. Winter in Jämtland is cold (e.g. -30 degrees) and snowy, autumn and spring are usually sunny and sometimes muddy. Summer can manifest itself in many ways -- from hot and dry to cool and rainy. And on beautiful days, there is always a grand sunrise and sunset. Basically, waterproof boots/rubber boots have proven themselves.
  It is Swedish tradition to walk around the house without shoes. However, I recommend wearing slippers, as the floor can be cool. And one more thing: Light and dark are very pronounced in the Swedish north. Swedish summer hardly knows dark night times. Eye masks have proven effective against sleep problems caused by light. Those who come in the winter should please remember to bring a headlamp.
  
  
  Mein Leben im Rhythmus mit der Natur (Jahreszeiten)
  Ich freue mich das ganze Jahr über auf Besucher, da jede Jahreszeit im Wald ihren eigenen Rhythmus hat. Gerne teile ich mein Wissen über die Jahreszeiten. Wenn du im Vorfeld mehr erfahren möchten, zögere bitte nicht, mich zu kontaktieren und Fragen zu stellen.
  Sei also herzlich willkommen! Vorausgesetzt, du bist Tierlieb und hast keine Angst vor anhänglichen Ziegen und seinem freundlichen Hund.
  
  Über ein wenig Hilfe rund um Haus, Hof und Garten würde ich mich freuen :
  • im Frühling den Garten bestücken und kleine Malerarbeiten an Haus und Schuppen;
  • im Sommer Rasenmähen
  • im Herbst Beeren sammeln und Gartenfrüchte konservieren und
  • im Winter das Holz für’s übernächste Jahr einbringen.
  • Und natürlich ist auch im Haus Hilfe gerne gesehen. Manchmal vermisse ich dann einfach ein paar Hände mehr zum Anpacken. Sei also herzlich willkommen!
  
  Sinnvolles - gut zu wissen!
  Bitte bringe für jede Jahreszeit passendes Outfit mit. Der Winter in Jämtland ist kalt (z.B. -30 Grad) und schneereich, Herbst und Frühling sind meist sonnig und manchal matschig. Der Sommer kann sich vielfältig zeigen -- von heiß und trocken bis kühl und regnerisch. Und an schönen Tagen gibt es immer einen grandiossen Sonnenauf- und -untergang. Grundsätzlich haben sich wasserfeste Stiefel / Gummistiefel bewährt.
  Schwedische Tradition ist es, im Haus ohne Schuhe zu laufen. Ich empfehle aber Hausschuhe, da der Fußboden schon mal kühl sein kann. Und noch ein Hinweis: Hell und Dunkel sind im schwedischen Norden sehr ausgeprägt. Der schwedische Sommer kennt kaum dunkle Nachtzeiten. Gegen Schlafprobleme bei Helligkeit haben sich Augenbinden bewährt. Wer im Winter kommt, der denke bitte an eine Stirnlampe.

  1 – 2 people in a room with double bed. We use all other premises together. Please do not expect luxury here in the middle of nature. Simple and practical is best. Rubber boots have proven themselves!
  
  There are three meals a day that we vote on. Please let me know if you're picky when eating. I usually prefer vegetarian food, but from time to time I do not want to do without a wild salmon from our lake or meat, whose origin is worthy and known to me. For your favorite snacks, sweets or "must-haves", please take care of yourself.
  
  And as far as the Internet is concerned, the Swedish network is also available in areas as remote as my farm.
  
  • A special feature: If you travel Scandinavia with a camper and want to live with me in between, you can stand here directly by the lake.
  • And one more special feature: dogs are welcome to bring along. I have 1 friendly femal-dog myself.
  
  1 – 2 Personen in einem Zimmer mit Doppelbett. Alle anderen Räumlichkeiten nutzen wir gemeinsam. Bitte erwartet keinen Luxus hier mitten in der Natur. Einfach und praktisch kommt am Besten. Gummistiefel haben sich bewährt!
  
  Es gibt 3 Malzeiten am Tag, über die wir uns abstimmen. Bitte teile mir mit, wenn du wählerisch bist beim Essen. Ich bevorzuge zwar meist vegetarische Kost, aber auf einen Wild-Lachs aus unserem See oder Fleisch, dessen Herkunft wertig und mir bekannt ist, möchte ich ab und an nicht verzichten. Für deine Lieblingssnacks, Süssigkeiten oder "Must-Haves" sorge bitte selber.
  
  Und was das Internet betrifft, so ist das schwedische Netz auch in so entlegenen Gebieten wie auf meinem Hof verfügbar.
  
  • Eine Besonderheit: Wer Skandinavien mit dem Wohnmobil bereist und zwischendurch bei mir leben möchte, kann hier direkt am See stehen.
  • Und noch eine Besonderheit: Hunde können gerne mitgebracht werden. Ich habe selber 2 freundliche Hündinnen.

  The special thing about this invitation is to live far away from other people in nature. But of course there is also the colorful city life.
  
  The capital of Jämtland is about 80 kilometres away and hosts numerous national and international cultural meetings in the summer. More information about your travel date can be found on the website of Östersund.
  
  In the winter, you can go alpine skiing in Åre, and cross-country skiing right at your doorstep. You can ride a snowmobile, take part in sled dog tours and, of course, do all kinds of winter sports in a snow-safe area.
  The prerequisite is that you have a driver's license, because without a car there is almost nothing.
  
  In our village community life is not an empty word and you are welcome to participate if you wish and if events take place on your date of travel.
  
  
  
  Das besondere an dieser Einladung ist es, einmal weit ab von anderen Menschen in der Natur zu leben. Aber natürlich gibt es auch das bunte Stadtleben.
  
  Die Landeshauptstadt von Jämtland ist ca. 80 Kilometer entfernt und veranstaltet im Sommer zahlreiche nationale und internationale Kulturtreffen. Näheres zu deinem Reisetermin findest du auf der webseite von Östersund.
  
  Im Winter kannst du Alpin-Ski in Are machen oder Langlaufski direkt vor der Haustüre. Du kannst Snowmobil fahren, an Schlittenhunde-Tournen teilnehmen und natürlich in schneesicherem Gebiet alle möglichen Arten von Wintersport betreiben.
  Voraussetzug ist allerdings, dass du einen Führerschein hast, denn ohne Auto geht hier so gut wie nichts.
  
  In unserem Dorf ist Gemeinschaftsleben keine leere Worthülse und du bist herzlich eingeladen, daran teilzunehmen, wenn du möchtest und wenn Veranstaltungen zu deinem Reisetermin stattfinden.

  Yes, if your digital job is compatible with the 4 hours of daily work here on the farm. My internetconnection is good enough, to host digital nomads. Ja, gerne, wenn der digitale Job mit den 4 Stunden täglicher Unterstützung hier auf dem Hof vereinbar ist. Die Internet-Verbindung ist gut.

  Larger campers are also possible. The pitch is on the farm right on the lake. Auch größere Camper sind möglich. Der Stellplatz ist auf der Farm direkt am See.

  Friendly dogs are welcome. Here on the farm I live with 2 female dogs. Freundliche Hunde sind willkommen. Hier auf der Farm lebe ich selber mit 2 Hündinnen.
