I need a flexible person with fysical strength to assist me with what I cant longer manage myself due to my age and health.
I have an old wooden cabin in the countryside just 60 km north of Oslo, with 6 acres of land. There I need help with general maintenance including cutting grass/bushes, mowing lawns.
The cabin is very basic, no indoor toilet/bath/shower and no wifi, but with electrisity and cold water. There is a bike there that i havent been using for the last 8-10 years, but if you know how to make the bike fixed again its for you to use. Your stay will probably also include shorter visits to my appartment in Oslo, with possible overnight stay.
Life can take sudden U-turns and I recently had to put my 2 year old english bulldog to sleep, and at the moment I dont have a dog but I am a dog lover and often look after friends pets, especially French bulldogs, so its best that you like dogs and possibly can assist with dogwalking as well.
I would think that appr. 2 weeks stay would be nice, you will have plenty of time to enjoy life. My cabin is located in Maura in Nannestad, It is a nice location with lot of hiking possibilities in the hills and forests. In the village center there is a library where they have internet for free, and a fitness/training center where its possible to take a shower- its in biking distance or I can drive you there occasionally.
My appartment in Oslo is also located in a very beautiful area, in walking distance to Maridalen valley, river and lakes, and yet only 25 minutes with public transport to city center.
The appartment is small, only 1 bedroom, you will have the bed room and I will sleep in the living room, but it take some adjustments from both parts.
I am 66 years old, semi retired social worker who do some volounter works for the church city mission, and also some assignments for a private social and health company.
I have been a workaway host for many years, when I had dogs- I hav had the pleasure of meeting many wonderful persons- and hope to meet more.

I am a social worker since more than 40 years. I like the philosophical angle to life wisdom, and can give you plenty :-). I have travelled and lived many places in Norway also in the far north, and can give you helpful information if you want to discover more of Norway
AS a native Osloboer, I can give you useful information about this and that.

Help at the cabin: cutting grass and bushes / mowing lawns on the 6 acres property, and general maintenance.
I will also expect you to help me with cleaning/ vacuuming both at my cabin and in my appartment, if we go there for overnight stay
I will also need help carrying groceries and other items from my car to my cabin, its not a long walk but I am not strong anymore
Maybe some dogwalking if I have dog at your time present.

At the cabin you will have your own bedroom, with bunk bed. The cabin is as said, very basic, no wifi, no bathroom and toilet in a shed.I have membership at a training center in the village, where its possible to take a shower. There is also a river and lake in the surroundings.
In Oslo I have a 2-room appartment, so only 1 bedroom that will be yours, and I will sleep in the living room, but its a combined living room and kitchen which means you can not use the kitchen before I get up in the morning.

I am a mix between very private and very socialable- I do need me privat " sphere" but can also be quite inclusive. When I make dinner I will probaly invite you to eat with me- and if you want to make dinner and invite me that is also nice.

I was lucky enough to be the first Workawayer at this special place. I stayed for 3 weeks in Lurøy and had a fantastic time! The nature is beautiful and rough up there. It is quite small and remote. You will spend most of your time in your own company. That is not to be underestimated.
