After feeding the corporate machine for more than six years it is time for a new adventure. Fabienne has been working for a large bank in FX trading and Simon used to work as an IT consultant at a large, international consulting firm. In June 2024 we started the adventure of our lifetime: traveling Africa. The first four months we spend backpacking and volunteering in East Africa. Since November 2024 we are traveling Southern Africa in a roof top tent car.

We love to get to know different countries, cultures, people and wildlife.

With German being our mother tongue and English as our professional work language we are able to teach and tutor those languages. Additionally Fabienne speaks French and Dutch. We are very keen to learn the basics of new languages during our stay.

Besides our professional background and Master of Science in European Economics (Fabienne) and Bachelor of Science in Logistics Engineering (Simon) we collected expertise in multiple areas through part-time jobs and internships, such as journalism, waitress, tutoring, social media (Fabienne) and cooking, distribution/supply chain management and painting/maintenance work (Simon). We are both organizing talents, team players and up for any kind of fun and laughs.

We both really enjoy playing board games, especially Backgammon and card games. We are both football enthusiasts, and especially Simon has been following our favourite football team (Borussia Mönchengladbach) throughout Europe for the past 15 years.

We love playing table tennis, having some beers with our friends, hiking, cooking, sailing, running (both Fabienne and Simon are half marathon finisher).

We stayed at Lukasa for a month and felt at home from day one. Geke and Harry are incredibly kind, the dogs are adorable and the peaceful location outside Lusaka is pure gold.

I can't describe in words how great our experience with Fabi and Simon was. They helped with very many tasks: gardening, making sightposts, helping at the bar and service at the restaurant etc. More than that we had a great time enjoying each others company.

We have been very lucky to have stayed for almost four weeks during busy season. We enjoyed every minute at the Camp and our tasks and projects did not too much feel like work. Fabi and simon were with us for two weeks and they are really amazing people who everyone could love to stay with. They helped us alot in our media pages for example instagram,trip advisor and the rest and also advised us on how to handle the rest,they cut videos for us to use on medias,took alot of pictures.

Peter and his whole family welcomed us very warmly and with open arms. We stayed two weeks at the coffee farm and enjoyed Isabellas great food (mostly vegetarian from their own garden).
