This profile used to be detailed, but I’ve learned to keep it simple. We already have something in common, and trust matters more than empty promises.

My name is Samuel, and I am a pilgrim. I am spearheading a cross-continental walk on foot in voluentary poverty to raise money for food insecurity in Latin countries, starting by building farms in Peru.

I left professional work behind when it stopped adding meaning to my life. Once talkative, I’m now concise. I value easygoing people because I’m the same way. I live to love, and if that resonates with you, we’ll likely get along.

I’m honest yet compassionate. While I’m capable of almost anything, I now focus on what truly matters. If you need help with manual work, childcare, family support, or creating a more peaceful life, I will gladly jump on board.

I live simply, focused on community and giving. I adapt easily to different places and understand when it’s time to part ways. After years of workaway experiences, in and out of "normal" life, I now seek to have the mind and heart of Christ.

I live as a wanderer, a pilgrim—I own no possessions, have no bank account, and use my phone only for reading books.

I enjoy laughter, hearing your story, and reminding both of us why we’re alive.

My previous expierence on workaway has placed both the likes of carpentry and working on an animal sanctuary under my belt. I can cook, clean, paint, run, attend to the furries, play piano, write... I'm usually good about being upfront with my capabilities in any proposal.

Julia and Sam are the Workaway couple you hope for. They are good company and work very hard and do outstanding jobs. They sanded and painted 3 bridges in our garden, they did a lot of maintenance on woodwork around the poolarea and garden furniture.

Marga, Sikko, Tom, Ryan and the Queen of the Netherlands - Emma. What a wonderful time we had with you in Avenhoorn, from the quiet escapades to spill my heart to a chicken or wander around the house constantly questioning whether I should swipe the last piece of cake or sweet bread.

Marga, the mother, is a brilliant cook, always going out of… read more her way to ensure she is the perfect host and diligent in her ability to make you feel like you are being taken care of. Unfortunately, I arrived quite sick and I worried she would not respond so kindly to it, but she handled it in stride and gave me the necessary time to adjust. She is highly knowledgeable on topics such as nutrition and environment, although I'm sure we would have discovered more about her erudite aspect given more time with her.

The children, Tom and Emma, were really quite fun. Emma is a vibrant personality and we cant wait to see where she goes, although she could look both ways before driving across a street ;) God speed to the cyclists! lol. Tom on the other hand could make it as a card shark in Uno or as a professional driver. We hope you guys stay in touch.

The family in general is a proper one, amounting in a cultural exchange. They like to joke and of course appreciate your differences. I would say that for the most part they were busy during our stay here (even Tom and Emma with exams), but our time was still well spent and even old Ryan came to love us after a week alone watching the house.

During our time, Julia and I were able to attend Kings Day, which was a brilliant excuse to party with thousands of people on the streets of Amsterdam. April is a great time to come! We also saw the Tulips in bloom and spent most of our days off at the beach (but we warn you its a 2 hour bike). The work really quite varies, but mainly it is simple garden work. For us it was almost exclusively wood sanding and painting, but some lucky workers in the future will be able to handle larger tasks in the tennis court (currently unusable) or the back (which someone for the love of Ryan please convince Tom to make into a techno party ground). As a long time workawayer, I would say that the work is very straightforward and manageable with plenty of time to enjoy the property and the village.

PS tell my girls I say "COO CLUCK A LUCK coo cloop. " They will know what it means ;)
