Hello, I’m Dagmar Mila, but people call me Mila ;),
I am 26 years young and born in the Netherlands. In 2018 I finished my study as a social care worker. I worked in a kindergarden/social farm with children with special needs. After my study I felt the need to learn more about the world trough traveling. When I was 18 years I did my first workaday, in these years I have done volunteer work on many different places. I have realized that being outside in the nature, working with people, plants and with nature it self, is the most valuable thing to me. Being outside gives me the right balance I need. When I travel trough Workaway, I can taste a real part of the culture and the people from the country. And learn, help, see and experience every time something new. I like to discover this so that eventually I can find the right place and soil where I can build my own farm/garden/home.

In 2020 I did an Organic Growing Ireland program (OGI), I learned how to build up a marked garden business, including a 7 month internship on an organic marked garden farm. In between I traveled to different countries. For the last 2 years I got my own business together with a friend, we got our Organic Market garden in the high mountains in Norway. We grew 35 different kind of vegetables. Trough this experience I learned a lot in many different aspects. And it showed me that a job with big responsibility, is something I gain a lot of energy from. As we decided to take a brake with the garden I feel the need to follow again my travel heart. I have lived over the last couple of years in different countries in Europe, Asia and South America. I have experience in different things but mainly in organic farming (mainly with a no dig system and Rudolf steiner philosophy), child care taking, cheese making (hard and soft cheese) and a bit of tourism work. I grew up on an organic farm in Ireland (vegetables and sheep cheese/yohurt) where my parents where Workaway host them self for many many years. This has made me experience both sides of workaday (being the host and the volunteer) because of this I think I can understand and work well in many different situations.

I enjoy working outside and in the garden the most but I’m really eager to learn new things! I like to help you in whatever way is possible. I also do really enjoy physical and creative work, so don't worry about that! As I felt more and more that I needed some vitamine D after those cold Norwegian seasons, I booked a one-way ticket to the other side of the world. For some years I have been dreaming to explore this part of the world, so I am very exited to finally start this journey! Im very very eager to learn more about the different ecosystems, the languages, the farmings methods and climates. I'm looking forward to learn new things, to help you and to explore the new cultures. Hope to see you soon.
