Description
Hi everyone!
We truly appreciate you taking the time to visit our page!
Grow rice with us using natural farming methods in the quiet, nature-rich rice fields of the Japanese countryside.
The rice I grow is for my own consumption.
We grow rice for self-sufficiency,planting it by hand the traditional way.
The rice fields are just a few minutes walk from my house.
Hand planting takes place from late May to early June. In early and late July, the grass around the rice plants is cut by hand using a sickle.
In November, we harvest the rice by cutting it with sickles and then dry it in the sun.
From January to March, during the winter months, we prepare the rice fields. Specifically, we dig irrigation channels with shovels and level the ground to eliminate height differences.
We also sometimes create ridges in the vegetable fields.
These tasks require a lot of physical strength.
We teach Japanese agriculture in harmony with the natural environment and provide meals and lodging.
We're especially happy to welcome people with any of these skills or passions:
・Someone who practices yoga and can share their skills (my wife loves yoga)
・Someone who can share spiritual experiences such as yoga or Ayurveda
・Creative art types (photography, painting, video, etc.)
・Website building (bonus if you know about SEO!)
・Forest lovers or lumberjack skills (like helping with bamboo forests)
・Anyone who enjoys spending time with kids
・People who can help with mowing or weeding in the garden or fields
If you possess the above skills, please feel free to reach out, even if the calendar indicates unavailability.
We accept volunteers only from the age of 23 and older.
Thanks.
※Thanks to everyone’s interest, we are fully booked until November 2025.

There are many living creatures there.
Hand planting is an ancient Japanese method that not many farmers practice, making it a valuable experience. The rice field is 990m2 in size. We are looking for people who are confident in their physical strength. Just over one mountain you'll find natural hot springs, and a short drive will take you to waterfalls, hiking trails, and parks.Projets impliquant des enfants

Our house is three years old and relatively clean. Your room is on the second floor, accessible by a ladder.Meals will be centered around rice and vegetables that we have grown.
Autres infos...
There is a bus stop right in front of my house, but because it is in the countryside, the buses are very infrequent and only run on weekdays.
