  Description

  We are a Family of 5 (my husband Robert, 3 Kids (Zoe, Amy & Calea - 11,11 & 4) and me - Nadja) living in Hartberg „the Green Heart of Austria“. Beautiful wineyards, Apple trees and low Mountains Are around us.
  
  We bought an old House that we now renovate. Hartberg is a small but very cultural and lovely city where you can find everything you need.

  We are only about an Hour away from Vienna and it takes you 40 min to Graz - so enough big Cities for cultural Events :
  
  But the nature here is even much more beautiful - if you asked for my opinion .
  
  We have already had 8 au pairs in the past - all for one year, we are still in contact with almost all of them.
  2024 we also had help - a kind of workaway, but a German thing ‘UGH’ - "Marco" :-) Marco has been living with us for more then 7 month and has helped us in the garden, with small renovations in the house and so on.
  
  We see all our visitors as family members.
  Marco ate with us, spent time with us, but also enjoyed to have his time out upstairs in his private room.
  
  My husband Robert usually works from home, so he's always there when our visitor needs something
  We have a nice circle of friends and often have friends for Lunch oder Dinner.
  Marco has already joined us, for example, to my best friend's 40th birthday (theme party), a town festival, amateur theatre here in town, Calea's kindergarten- Party, our older daughters' school play... He's with us at every party with friends.
  He´s not only workaway but more a friend and we are looking forward to visit him in Portugal in a few month.
  
  So I think that we can offer a very ‘at home’ feeling. And I think we're actually really nice people :-)
  Yes, of course it can be noisy with children, but there's life here and they're at kindergarten and school during the day anyway!

  Aide

  WHO we are looking for:
  🧑‍🎨 Painter (someone who can paint walls 😅)
  or/and
  🌳 Gardener (hobby gardener)
  or/and
  🔨 Craftsman (strong arms)
  
  WHERE we are looking:
  Styria / Hartberg
  Right on the city border, a 5‑minute walk to the city center, but right behind the house nature begins – including a hiking trail to the Ringwarte.
  1 hour by car to Vienna, 40 minutes to Graz, over 5 thermal baths within 30 minutes, 25 minutes to the Hungarian border, 3 hours to Slovenia 🙂
  It certainly won’t be boring here.
  
  WHO we are:
  A family of 5 – Mom, Dad, and 3 daughters (12, 12, and 4 years old)
  Open, fun, sociable, definitely not quiet (sorry 😅), but certainly warm-hearted.
  
  WHAT exactly we are looking for:
  A year ago, we bought a house – unfortunately, we neither have the time to finish everything nor the capital to have it all done for us 😜. So, we’re looking for help:
  
  🌷 GARDENER: starting immediately
  
  In March, all plants and shrubs need to be pruned, and it’s probably also time for the first lawn mowing.
  If you’re knowledgeable or have a good eye for it, we’ll gladly provide you with a budget so you can green the place to your heart’s content (as diverse as possible for the insect world – we don’t need or want a perfect English lawn here!!!!)
  Important: Hobby gardeners are very welcome, but you should know a bit about proper pruning!
  Estimated time: 2–3 days of full-on work, after which you’re warmly invited to stay with us for another week or even 10 days!
  🖌️ PAINTER: starting immediately
  
  We have several indoor walls that need painting – for example, the guest room with the wooden ceiling (see photos), the entrance hall, and the rooms of my older daughters.
  All materials will, of course, be provided by us.
  We ask for someone who has at least painted a few walls at home, as we expect a quality paint job with proper adhesion and finish.
  Estimated time: Also about 3 days if done in one go, after which you’re warmly invited to stay with us for another week or even 10 days!
  
  
  👨‍🔧 CRAFTSMAN
  We are building… for example, a pool – see photos. Specifically, we are looking for:
  
  Woodwork: Clearing up branches (anytime starting immediately) – approx. 10 hours of work
  Preparing a small concrete foundation (for a steam sauna behind our shed) – starting immediately – approx. 1 day of work
  Erecting concrete formwork blocks including reinforcement – approx. 20–25 hours
  Graveling the terrace: Starting immediately – removing the first layer of earth, excavator available, graveling – estimated 3 days of work
  NOTE: One person doesn’t have to cover everything ☺️ – these are actually all “AND”s 🙂🙂
  
  ❤️ What we offer:
  
  2 guest rooms (see photos) and Wi-Fi throughout the house
  A wonderful environment with lots and lots of beautiful nature, especially now in spring
  Meals (we’ll surely agree on details, but rest assured you’ll be well fed on workdays – we cook fresh almost every day 🫶🏼)
  Although our house has 3 toilets, it only has one large bathroom – but so far, sharing it has never been a problem 🙂🙂
  If you want to come as a couple but your partner isn’t handy at all: there’s always something to do around the house, and our dog (an 8‑year‑old Boxer) is always happy for a walk 🙂
  If you come with children – we have 2 teenagers and, of course, a 4‑year‑old playmate available 🤣
  Toys, painting spatulas, etc. are, of course, provided ❤️
  ✋ What is not allowed:
  
  No other dogs (sorry, even very sociable ones – we’ve tried that before and it didn’t end well)
  No cigarettes inside the house (smoking outside is fine)
  No people seeking quiet – with 5 people here, you’re probably in the wrong place 😜😜
  No short trips for 2–3 days, as that won’t work out – you should really have a proper VACATION too!!!
  Unfortunately, we are not wheelchair accessible, as the guest rooms are upstairs on the first floor. 😕

  We have a big House with a big garden. Of course you have your own room with double bed, TV, wifi… and your own toilet. The big bathroom is to share (sorry :-) )
