It was my first workaway experience at Peter and Alex place.
Words can`t even explain this time. Peter and Alex are so lovely people.
Its feels like i was a family member.
We worked together and break down walls. We installed windows and a door. It was always much fun. Peter explain the things on a calm and easy way. We prepared and cook meals

Define enthusiasm and willingness to learn, in one word, that word is Insa. if she ever calls you for a stay, just say yes immediately and you will see that I am definately not wrong.

Coming vom rain to sun. My first experience as a workawayer wasn´t so good. The accomodation was terrible and they expect rather 10 hours working instead of 5 hours a day (including the weekend). Because of this bad experience, it would be almost the end of my workaway career.

… read more had a nice spacious room, the kitchen and bathroomsharing worked impeccable. It was always enough food in the house. The core time was from Monday till Friday between 9-13 o´clock. On afternoons and weekends was enough time to get to know the landscape and people there.
Both live in a quaint townhouse in Capdepera, directly off Cala Ratjada, which will be renovated completely. The rehabilitation works are made at least half and both attempt very much to maintain the old stil of the house. Craft skills are so desireable. For Workawayer who want to learn new skills oder want to improve existing skills, Peter is a super teacher.
They are two great people and I felt very well and welcome from the first to the last day.
Later my wife followd me and helped us dynamically. She affirms my impressions totally.

Rene stayed with us for six weeks in all, the first couple of weeks with another workawayer ( Aleka) and later with Anja his wife. He manages his life well and so fits in with others and certainly with us. It was an advantage that he had experience with renovation and he works well with others, but just as good on his own and once he knows whats
… read more expected, there is really no need to await anything less that perfection. Anja helped us out in the house, with general cleaning (after we messed up the house every day). She made some great food for us and I had some very yummy things that I hadnt eaten since I left Germany in 1983.
All in all, a good time in our house and things moved along well.
In Germany there is a saying that we all meet twice in our lives and thats fine where these guys are concerned. We wish them good luck with their plans ( A,B,C or D.....oops), and of course good travelling, Alex and Peter

Aleka is like a breath of fresh air.....the food she made for us, the way she works, it was very special and we enjoyed the time she spent here. I would strongly recommend her to any future hosts. Aleka has her life organised extremely well and between workaway stays and her friends around europe, where she is obviously always welcome, it seemed

Alex and Peter did warmly welcome me at their home. I had a very good time with them and René, who was there as a workawayer in the same time as me. We worked all together, mostly on the walls inside of the house,
Peter as a professional gave us the good ways and we all enjoyed our work in a good spirit, had breakfast and lunch together, I cooked

What a lovely young Welsh lady Becy is, a charming person with a willingness to learn and what is most important. she leaves you feeling that she has really taken in what you have shown her at the end of each day. She has the ability to easily be part of the family, but respecting our privacy as well.
We are well travelled ourselves, but Becy
… read more has also so much to talk about from the places shes been, the people that she has met along the way, which makes great listening in the evening with a glass of good wine. She is also a great cook.
We would both like to see her again, at any time, should our paths cross again and we have no doubt that other Hosts would benefit from her help and enthusiasm.
P.S. She has to come back anyway to pick up her shoes which I fixed for her.....good luck and good travelling Becy, xxx

Pete and Alex have it sorted..! They make you feel a part of the workaway house experience with such ease, generosity and sincerity. You can have a banter and a laugh and the house is relaxed, with that feeling like you can get space whenever you feel like a chill out after work...
They show a lot of respect for their volunteers, you feel
… read more like an equal, there's no Upstairs Downstairs with Pete and Alex , we went to the flea markets and had a few wines out and about..Alex used to be a tour guide and knows a lot about Mallorca. just a great couple to work with! ... so friendly and well travelled themselves, you'll enjoy your time with them.
The work is excellent ( for me as I 'm going to renovate my own place) . Peter is a great teacher with 42 years experience as a Master Decorator! You can learn a lot from him.
He's organised and clear about the renovation, we all worked in good spirits, its easy to get into a happy routine 9.30- 13.30 , knock off after lunch -to enjoy your free time with ease.. Some days we chipped in longer because the plaster work or cement flooring needs attention a few more hours , but worry not, Pete calls the next day off or you work it all out so that you get your R & R no problems. So safe and comfortable here, the roaring fire , your own room which is very comfortable and a garden area you can chill out for a coffee or beer. I imagine a BBQ there in the summer would be great too. There's a 20 meter indoor pool down the road if you're a swimmer, and the area is lovely !

A man with a mission and an RV. What can I say.....Lorenc is a guy who has found his niche in life and follows it with a certain flair only to be found in Italians. You need discipline in Life. That is what Peter told me one day. He is such a great artist. A very creative person willing to teach you what he learned in 40 years of work and travel as a Master Decorator. Alex is such a nice laid-back person always greeting you with a smile. The house is beautiful. The town is small but is Mallorca Mallorca. I miss their Cat "Bruto Bruto" We fell in love i guess :-) but i had to leave :-(
I will never forget the time we spent together.in that house which I named it "The Safe House"
