I was at Elijah’s place for a very short time, due to a family matter at home that I needed to leave for. However, my brief visit was uncomfortable. I did not feel my presence was very welcomed or wanted, and overall things felt disjointed and thoughtless to me. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this farmstay as a woman traveling alone.

I had a very cool experience of living with interesting people in a remote place in a cabin in the middle of the forest. Elijah was very kind, generous and responsive, as well as the rest of this big family. The food, beer, cider and ice cream were wonderful. The work is not difficult, but rather monotonous, so you definitely should have something

Elijah's maple farm was an amazing experience! I was there for the tail end of the sugar season, so my job was detapping the trees. I spent almost every work day walking through the forest, taking taps out of the trees which was a very meditative experience. If you enjoy the peace and quiet and working outdoors, I highly recommend this farm!

And all the maple syrup was definitely a plus!Vous pouvez seulement contacter les workawayers avec une adhésion active.

I was only able to make a short trip of 5 days but Elijah was still willing to host me. Even though I wasn't able to help out much I learned a lot about the sugaring process and got to experience a slice of rural Vermont life :)

Great place to learn the maple trade and experience Vermont! Elijah and the entire family are incredibly knowledgeable, welcoming and fun to spend time with. Nobody will mind if you get the Ski-Doo stuck one time too many. ;) Expect plenty of work in the snow and the sun, but also many opportunities to explore this beautiful area or to just kick

Rachel was a big help getting things done. She was quick at learning the task at hand and did the job like a trained employee! Also she didn’t complain about not having extremely high living standards and she beat me at cards almost all the time!

I loved my stay at Elijah’s sugarcabin. I stayed ten days and learned so much in that time. This was my first farm that did not rely on ecotourism as its primary source of income, and because of that I learned far more than I have in other places. The work at the sugarbush isn’t for the faint of heart, you may be snowshoeing with gear and a drill

The experiences I had over my stay reminded me how much fun winter could be: snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, and snowmobiling, I’ll no longer dread the season, but welcome it.Vous pouvez seulement contacter les workawayers avec une adhésion active.
