About Me
My name is Angelika, and I am an educational scientist, psychotherapist and art therapist. As an educator, I train people to communicate successfully and consciously. I founded an association to teach talent raising and practical ecology (e.g. permaculture gardens and maintaining biodiversity with lots of wild animals in the garden, education for sustainable development - which I teach at the University of Göttingen). I live in a small village near Göttingen in Lower Saxony, with lots of nature around. Furthermore, I love to laugh and have fun with people here and from all over the world, to experience new cultures, traditions, to share lives, habits and activities with each other.
I have a sweet cat who was abandoned as a baby and grew up in the wild. If you love cats, she could be soon purring on your lap. I like sports and exercise, and our surroundings offer many opportunities for us to be active. I also love being creative in my free time, clowning, writing, painting, singing, dancing and improvising.
About the Project
I am offering a place for 4 weeks - or longer. The longer the better.
The stay could be in my house or in your own camper van, or in summer in a tent in our garden. Everyone has their own space.
We meet as a team in the morning and discuss yesterday's or today's work and plan the day. Your working days can be quite independent and self-sufficient, which many of our guest helpers really enjoy.

Über mich
Mein Name ist Angelika und ich bin Erziehungswissenschaftlerin, Psychotherapeutin und Kunsttherapeutin. Als Pädagogin trainiere ich Menschen in erfolgreicher und bewusster Kommunikation. Ich habe einen Verein gegründet, der Talentförderung und praktische Ökologie lehrt (z. B. Permakulturgärten und Erhalt der Biodiversität mit vielen Wildtieren im Garten, Bildung für nachhaltige Entwicklung – ich lehre an der Universität Göttingen). Ich lebe in einem kleinen Dorf in der Nähe von Göttingen in Niedersachsen, umgeben von viel Natur. Ich liebe es, mit Menschen aus der Region und aus aller Welt zu lachen und Spaß zu haben, neue Kulturen und Traditionen kennenzulernen und Leben, Gewohnheiten und Aktivitäten miteinander zu teilen.
Ich habe eine süße Katze, die als Baby ausgesetzt wurde und in der Wildnis aufwuchs. Wenn du Katzen liebst, könnte sie bald auf deinem Schoß schnurren. Ich mag Sport und Bewegung, und unsere Umgebung bietet viele Möglichkeiten für uns, aktiv zu sein. In meiner Freizeit bin ich auch gerne kreativ: Clown, Schreiben, Malen, Singen, Tanzen und Improvisieren.
Über das Projekt
Ich biete einen Platz für 4 Wochen – oder länger – an. Je länger, desto lieber.
Der Aufenthalt kann bei mir zu Hause, in eurem eigenen Wohnmobil oder im Sommer in einem Zelt in unserem Garten stattfinden. Jeder hat seinen eigenen Bereich.
Wir treffen uns morgens als Team, besprechen die Arbeit von gestern oder heute und planen den Tag. Eure Arbeitstage können sehr unabhängig und eigenständig gestaltet werden, was viele unserer Gasthelfer sehr schätzen.

We will - in leisure time and optionally - sing international songs and make music, do artwork together, walk or run in the morning, dance in the evening, learn German or English, get some ideas about realistic remedies for climate change (less waste, natural food, building with clay and other natural materials, natural resp. ecological housekeeping and gardening). We will have interesting talks, enjoy our talents, communicate together as a small temporary community, do calm and relaxed meditative working. Sometimes you may meet people from other countries.

Wir werden - in der Freizeit und optional - auch internationale Lieder singen und Musik machen, gemeinsam Malen und kreativ sein, morgens können wir spazieren oder laufen gehen, abends tanzen und Deutsch oder Englisch lernen. Ich freue mich auf Diskussionen über realistische Maßnahmen gegen den Klimawandel (weniger Abfall, natürliche Nahrung, Bauen mit Lehm und anderen natürlichen Materialien, natürliche bzw. ökologische Haushaltsführung und Gartenarbeit). Wir werden interessante Gespräche führen, unsere Talente ausleben und genießen, als kleine Wohngemeinschaft auf Zeit miteinander kommunizieren und ruhig, entspannt und meditativ arbeiten. Manchmal triffst du vielleicht Menschen aus anderen Ländern.

There are a lot of different things to do in and around the house. I want you to enjoy the tasks you are helping with.
Together we will find tasks you are interested in and in your application you are welcome to explain what you really love doing or learning. >>> Please, be so kind to send me some explanatory words or photos.
In case you don't have experience and you would like to get some, I can introduce you to new skills well or not so well. Or you choose another task...I offer activities for different knowledge levels.
Here are some ideas for tasks and activities that other workawayers have chosen to fill their hours with:
* tidying workshop
* repair and improvement of rooms and devices
* Handling clay : wall finishing, repairing half-timbered buildings
* insulating windows with special plastic foils for better energy footprint and other energy saving chores
* outside painting tasks at windows and walls - except in winter when it is too cold outside, and other window related crafts, experience with paints helpful
* Gardening: permaculture, plant caring and potting, garden tasks, removing weeds, harvesting and processing harvested plants etc.
However, I also have lots of organizational tasks to do, and if you have very good knowledge in crafts/maintenance or special computer or office skills, (or at least you wish to improve them) you are welcome to help. German language knowledge will help. If you have good knowledge as a carpenter, a painter or own a degree in electricity you are welcome to share this with us.
I am used to work with local crafts persons, too. With these persons you might have the chance to watch them and increase your abilities by lending a hand. This usually takes some weeks or months for planning and organizing. Please don't expect spontaneous chances.
There are a lot of things to be done, but there is always time for a bright smile :)

Jede Aktivität im Haus und rundherum sowie im Permakultur-Garten, die einen kleinen Unterschied macht, weil du hier bist, ist willkommen.
Es gibt viele verschiedene Dinge im und um das Haus zu tun. Ich möchte, dass du Freude an den Aufgaben hast, bei denen du hilfst. Bitte sei so freundlich, in dein Anschreiben auch hineinzuschreiben, was du wirklich gern tust während deines Aufenthalts.>>> Bitte sende mir doch ein paar erklärende Worte oder Fotos mit ;)
Gemeinsam finden wir Aufgaben, für die du dich interessierst!
Für den Fall, dass du noch keine Erfahrung hast und gerne ein bisschen Inspiraton hättest, was es so zu tun gibt kann ich dich mehr oder weniger gut anleiten. Du kannst Aufgaben wählen und ich biete Aktivitäten für verschiedene Level und Schwierigkeitsgrade an.
Hier sind einige Ideen für Aufgaben und Aktivitäten, die auch schon andere workawaer für sich selbst ausgesucht haben:
* Fensterisolierung mit speziellen Plastikfolien und andere Tätigkeiten für bessere Energiebilanz
* Aufräumarbeiten in der Werkstatt
* Reparatur und Verbesserung von Räumen und Geräten
* Tonarbeiten: Wandveredelung, Reparatur von Fachwerkgebäuden
* Holzschnitt für Kamine oder Holzarbeiten nach deinen Fähigkeiten
* Außenanstricharbeiten an Fenstern und Wänden - außer im Winter, wenn es draußen zu kalt ist, und andere Fensterarbeiten.
* Gartenarbeit: Permakultur, Pflanzeneintopfen, Gartenarbeiten, Unkraut entfernen, ernten und Ernte verarbeiten usw.
Ich habe aber auch viel organisatorische Arbeit zu erledigen, und wenn Du sehr gute Kenntnisse im Handwerk/Wartung oder spezielle Computer- oder Bürofähigkeiten hast (oder diese zumindest verbessern willest), kannst du gerne helfen. Deutschkenntnisse helfen dabei natürlich :) Wenn Du Erfahrungen im handwerklichen Arbeiten hast (Schreiner, Maler oder einen Abschluss in Elektrotechnik hast), kannst du das auch gerne teilen.
Ich bin es auch gewohnt, mit lokalen Handwerkern zu arbeiten. Dabei kann es sein, dass du die Chance hast das zu beobachten und deine Fähigkeiten zu verbessern. Dies dauert in der Regel einige Wochen oder Monate für die Planung und Organisation. Bitte erwarte also keine spontanen Chancen.
Es gibt viel zu tun, aber es ist immer Zeit für Spaß und ein Lächeln :)

There is a nice guest room of comfortable size. And a lot of space and a big garden. I am used to and enjoy a community living, even a small community for a certain time. You can of course use the other places/rooms, which are used by all other guests, too.
In winter, there are fewer people here. In summertime, there might be more volunteers or people doing internships that help us in our cause.
We are looking for someone with at least B2 German language skills, from the EU or with a residence permit in Germany. Please send us your qualified application in German or English.
We offer internships as well. Please ask for one, if you are Interested. (Full time and letter of recommendation)
Throughout the summer there is also space for living in a garden tent. If you want to use your own- even better! You can still use the bathroom and other rooms in the house.
Who wants to share his/her time in one of our tents, in your own tent or own camping wagon or other mobile sleeping place, be welcome as well. Please apply for this extra.

Es gibt ein nettes Gästezimmer und viel Platz mit einem großen Garten. Natürlich kannst du auch die anderen Plätze/Zimmer nutzen. Ich bin es gewohnt und genieße es, in einer kleinen Gemeinschaft auf Zeit zu leben.
Im Winter sind hier weniger Menschen und im Sommer gibt es vielleicht mehr Freiwillige oder Praktikanten, die uns helfen.
Wir bieten auch Praktika an. Bitte frag extra danach, wenn du interessiert bist. (Vollzeit und Empfehlungsschreiben)
Während des Sommers kann auch im Garten ein Zelt aufgeschlagen werden.

Public transportation can take you to cultural events and historic sites. You can discover special places in nature and learn about important cultural locations. Get inspired by creative arts and self exploration. Have time to read and listen to music. Let's play games, come with me to see other places and meet other people.
Do your own thing once in a while, as I do mine. Let's come together exchanging life experiences or funny events in our lives, share meals with home-baked bread or garden raised herbs, let's harvest fruits and preserve some of it. Some like hiking or biking in the area with smooth mountains and nice creeks surrounded with trees. If you can, bring your own bike.
Our small village has about 80 inhabitants, many very nice people, some farmers, as well as many animals and plants. We are surrounded by a green landscape with meadows, fields and forests, which is a source of peace, serenity, well-being, and relaxation. 16 km away is the university towns of Göttingen and Witzenhausen, that provide exciting education, art and historical collections of all kinds.
We are in the middle of Germany and you can easily reach many large cities by train at reasonable times and prices. Our nearest train station is 8 km away (very rare bus connections unfortunately), and there is a bus connection from our village to the main station at Göttingen. (Not (!) on the weekends, only on working days)
The nearest airport is Kassel-Calden. However, please consider the destructive environmental effects of flying and take the train or other means if possible.
Nearby, there are beautiful small historical towns with timbered houses (such as Hann. Münden, Witzenhausen, Heiligenstadt, Duderstadt) as well as lively bigger cities (such as Göttingen and Kassel). All have old churches and other fascinating old and new architecture. Göttingen offers several cultural festivals. The most important is the International Handel Festival in May/June.
I would love to stay in contact if possible even after the workaway experience :)

Mit öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln erreichst du Kulturveranstaltungen, historische Gebäude, machst Entdeckungen besonderer Orte in der Natur oder an kuturellen Orten. Lass dich inspirieren von den kreativen Künsten und von besonderen Selbsterfahrungen. Habe Zeit zum Lesen und zum Musikhören. Lass uns Spiele spielen, komme mit mir mit, um neue Orte kennen zu lernen und (soweit Corona-Regeln es erlauben) andere Menschen zu treffen.
Folge manchmal deinem eigenen Stern, wie ich meinem folge. Lass uns zusammenkommen, um Lebenserfahrungen auszutauschen oder lustige Ereignisse in unserem Leben, Mahlzeiten mit selbstgebackenem Brot oder Gartenkräutern miteinander zu teilen, Obst ernten und und etwas davon konservieren. Manche Gasthelfer mögen gern wandern oder radfahren in unserer sanften Berglandschaft und an freundlichen baumumsäumten Bächen. Wenn möglich, bring dein eigenes Fahrrad mit.
Unser kleines Dorf hat ca. 80 Einwohner, viele sehr nette Leute, einige Bauern, sowie viele Tiere und Pflanzen. Wir sind mitten in Deutschland und von hier aus können viele Großstädte bequem mit dem Zug zu günstigen Zeiten und Preisen erreicht werden. Der nächste Bahnhof ist 8 km entfernt (leider sehr seltene Busverbindungen), und an Werktagen gibt es Busverbindungem von unserem Dorf zum Hauptbahnhof Göttingen. Der nächstgelegene Flughafen ist Kassel-Calden. Berücksichtigen Sie jedoch bitte die zerstörerischen Umweltauswirkungen des Fliegens und nimm nach Möglichkeit den Zug oder andere Verkehrsmittel.
In der Nähe gibt es schöne kleine historische Städte mit Fachwerkhäusern (wie Hann. Münden, Witzenhausen, Heiligenstadt, Duderstadt) sowie lebhafte Großstädte (wie Göttingen und Kassel). Alle haben alte Kirchen und andere faszinierende alte und neue Architektur. Göttingen bietet mehrere Kulturfestivals. Das wichtigste ist das Internationale Händelfest im Mai/Juni.
