Sortland is beautiful with countless opportunities for sightseeing, mountain adventures and photography. Heidi is the most caring host ever, will ensure you have everything you need and will give you great tips on walks and places to see/visit in Vesterålen. Every time the sun shone, I had the opportunity to embark on a new adventure. I feel very grateful for this experience, I miss Dexter and highly recommend Heidi and Gøran as hosts! I hope to meet them all again some day!

We were so lucky to have Vanessa help us for about two weeks during this summer. She took over looking after our cat after another workaway volunteer while we were away on vacation. Communication with her while we were away was absolutely perfect as she was always available to reply, gave clear answers and was always positive. She made us feel

Jana and Tomas looked after my cat Dexter for about one week while I was traveling. I couldn't have asked for someone better to take care of him while I was away. From the moment they came they were super lovely, and very attentive towards Dexter. Dexter even ended up staying with them on their room at night, and slept in their bed for days after

As a last minute request, and though being new to Workaway, Martin came at the perfect time and gave me a much needed help with looking after my beloved cat as I had a sudden arrangement to attend. We didn't get to spend a lot of time together as I had to go away for some days, but he kept my home in perfect condition, was the most wonderful company for my cat and gave me updates when I was away. It was the best help I could have gotten and I was so relaxed knowing my cat was always great in his company. While I was home he joined me for a hike and shared some meals together. In his free time he explored the area and enthusiastically took some of my advice for things to do in the area.

This was my first Workaway experience and it was great. I looked spontaneously for a host in northern Norway and became immediately an answer by Heidi. I stayed at hers with cat Dexter for round about 10 days in Sortland while she was away. Both welcomed me notably kind and she made her amazing Norwegian pancakes for me which were truly delicious.
… read more While Heidi was away I watched after Dex who is very social, cute and likes to cuddle. The apartment was amazing, clean and next to a nice hike from where you have a great view. Furthermore, Sortland as well as the surrounding area is beautiful and i would recommend to explore the nature, going to the public sauna and listen to the tips Heidi tells you! All in all, I had a wonderful time, got a little bit to relax, appreciated the time with Dex and had a great first Workaway experience.
