Hi! We’re Avanti and Shubham, a married couple originally from India but currently living in Germany. Over the years, we’ve discovered that traveling together is one of the things that truly makes us happy. It started with a few trips here and there, but soon it became a passion that brought us closer and gave us countless unforgettable experiences. We love exploring new places, immersing ourselves in different cultures, and, of course, trying all kinds of delicious cuisines. Cooking is another shared passion of ours—we enjoy experimenting in the kitchen and learning new recipes. For us, food is a wonderful way to connect with people and cultures.

We are both engineers by background: Shubham works as a design engineer, and I (Avanti) have taken my creative side further by owning a small business as a resin artist. Living abroad has taught us to look beyond regular sightseeing and connect more personally with the places we visit. We’ve realized how special it is to meet new people, learn about their way of life, and share simple, meaningful conversations. These experiences stay in our hearts long after the trip is over.

What motivates us is the opportunity to grow—both individually and as a couple—through experiences that challenge us and teach us something new. We believe that Workaway is the perfect platform to combine our love for travel with meaningful contributions, whether it’s helping out with projects, learning new skills, or simply sharing a meal and a story with our hosts.

Yes, we’re interested in both! We’re fluent in English and Hindi and happy to help others improve in these languages. We also have an intermediate level of German and are keen to learn more through practice. For us, language is a beautiful way to connect with people and understand their culture, and we’re excited to both teach and learn.

As a couple, we bring a mix of practical, creative, and interpersonal skills that we believe would make us a great fit for Workaway opportunities.

We both love cooking and enjoy experimenting in the kitchen, making it a fun way to share our culture through food or help out with meal preparation. We’re also experienced in working as a team and are used to learning new things quickly, whether it’s adapting to new environments, tackling household tasks, or trying something completely different.

Beyond our professional skills, we are both friendly, approachable, and eager to connect with people. Traveling has taught us the importance of flexibility, cultural understanding, and being open to new ideas, which we carry with us in everything we do.

We’re ready to lend a hand wherever needed—whether it’s helping with creative projects, basic repairs, cooking, gardening, cleaning, or just offering good company and conversation. We’re also excited to learn new skills and take on tasks that might be outside our comfort zone, as we see Workaway as a way to grow and contribute meaningfully to the communities we visit.

We have a few hobbies that we enjoy in our free time. We love playing UNO cards and are always up for a fun game! Badminton is another sport we enjoy. We also like going to the gym occasionally to stay active and healthy. Hiking is something we both love as well—exploring nature and being outdoors is a great way for us to relax and connect with the world around us.
