We are a couple in our 20s, and now we are at a point in life that we want to see the world and get to know other countries, cultures, etc... We just feel that we have to do it now and acquire some knowledge along the way, it looks like Workaway can really help us with making this come true.

Both of us grew up in Belgium, so we learned Dutch, French and English via school. I (Ciaran) grew up in a mixed family (Belgian, British and Mauritian). So I'm fluent in Dutch and English, I'm okay with French. Inke grew up in a Belgian family, she's fluent in Dutch, really good in English and also okay with French. Both of us want to make our French better, go to really good or even fluent. Since not that long ago we both got a feeling for German, which we also want to learn. Spanish is something I want to learn on the side, not really focus on. Teaching a language is something we are not really looking for.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

Op dit moment hebben we allebei een "gewone" baan.
Ikzelf (Ciaran) werk als verkoper voor Colruyt (supermarktfranchise), maar ik ben ook hoofd van het wijnverkoopteam, hoofd beveiliging in de winkel en hoofd van het traineeprogramma.
Daarvoor werkte ik als iemand die voor kinderen met een beperking zorgde.
Mijn opleiding gaat van timmerman naar toerisme, gewoon echt zoveel mogelijk willen doen tijdens dit leven.
Ik denk dat ik zou kunnen zeggen dat ik goed ben in het samenwerken met andere mensen.
Inke is op dit moment aan het werken als sous-chef in een restaurant. Maar haar hart, kennis en interesse ligt in de kunstwereld. Ze is beeldhouwer van opleiding en heeft ook al wat werken staan in de verkoop.
Ze is opgegroeid aan de plattelandskant van Belgie, ze heeft ervaring met het zorgen voor dieren (varkens) en ook een algemene kennis in het groeien en verzorgen van planten/groenten.
Inke heeft ook gewerkt in de sector met kinderen en zo hebben wij elkaar leren kennen.

Inke has a big interest in making food, tasting food and espacially growing the ingredients to make the food.
Ciaran his interest is more towards the sports world, mainly basketball.
Both of us really just want to meet people and learn about cultures.
