Hi there! I’m a 32-year-old from New Zealand/Australia, currently on a career break after working as a research scientist in Melbourne for most of the past decade. Growing up on a dairy farm instilled in me a love for the outdoors and hands-on work, while my years in the city gave me an appreciation for diverse cultures and intellectual pursuits. Now, I’m looking to embrace new experiences, develop practical skills, and immerse myself in different ways of living.

Being outdoors brings me joy—whether it’s hiking through stunning landscapes, cycling along scenic routes, or snowboarding down snowy slopes. I’m excited to contribute to projects that involve physical activity, nature, or community building. A personal goal during my travels is to improve my beginner-level French, so I’d love opportunities to practice and learn more about the language and culture.

I’m hardworking, adaptable, and eager to learn. Whether it’s lending a hand on a farm/ garden, helping with construction and maintenance, or contributing to eco-projects, I’m ready to dive in and make a meaningful impact.

I bring a diverse set of skills and experiences that I hope will be helpful to hosts. Growing up on a dairy farm in New Zealand, I developed a strong work ethic and practical abilities, including animal care, basic maintenance, and general farm tasks. I’m comfortable with physical work and enjoy being hands-on in outdoor environments.

Professionally, I’ve spent the past 10 years working as a research scientist in Melbourne, which has honed my analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail. While my scientific expertise may not always directly apply to Workaway projects, it has made me adaptable, organized, and quick to learn new skills.
