I'm currently travelling in Japan. I'm looking for a host in the period from 31/05 until 10/06.

*I am currently looking for a WorkAway host in Japan from 31/05 unrill 10/06.*

I'm Erik, 18 years old.
I live in the Netherlands, also where I've grown up. I just finished high school and I currently have a gap year. In this year I would like to explore the world, see how it's different from the Netherlands and learn how people live there. It is basically developping and improving my worldview. I'm planning to first explore Czechia and then Bosnia. After that, I am going to Japan and Indonesia.
In my free time, I enjoy track and field, especially the high jump, my best and favourite discipline. My personal record is higher than the average height of a person ;). I could be found on the track four days per week. Three days to train myself and the other day to teach and help younger members of the club develop their technique and skills. I also play chess on advanced amateur level. Challenge me for a match, maybe you'll learn something or teach me.
I learned about workaway via other workawayers, who travelled around Europe. I could only imagine how cool it would be to explore the culture of different countries from the inside, while making new friends and work for the costs. Besides that, I could still go sightseeing in my free time. Now I'm finally the one to make the stories, instead of only listening to them!

For communication around the world, I would like not only to be able to English. I think that speaking more languages improves the fun of communicating. I like to learn the similarities between really different languages, like Dutch and Czech. When I was first in Czech Republic, I was already intrigued by the words without any vowels, like smrk or vrch. It interested me so much, that I start learning Czech. I think teaching a language is the best way to further improve a language. Especially when I teach different languages than my native language: Dutch.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I have a strong endurance, meaning I'm not tired easily by hard work.
At home I am a handy-man, fixing and building some things around my own house. I haven't had education in this, but I know how to hit a nail on its head!
I am experienced in training children athletics. I've done that for over three years now.
Last of all, I am super motivated to finish a task assigned to me! I never rush to finish something off quickly, but inaccurately.

I'm very sporty and enjoy almost every sport. Also, if there is a board or card game, I always like to join in. I know a few card tricks. Furthermore, I am interested in meteorology and especially the cold side of it: snow, ice and the like. How do clouds form? Which air pressure indicates what weather type? Which clouds provide what sort of precipation?
