Hi there! 👀 We are a couple (both 29 years old) from the Czech Republic, currently living our dream of traveling around the world. By the end of 2023, we decided that we wanted to make our dream come true and leave Prague for the big adventure. We vacated our flat in the main city to the other tenants, quit our full-time jobs, packed ourselves into small backpacks, and went to Japan in October. There our journey began.

🇯🇵 For 3 months, we hitchhiked all over Japan, sleeping mostly in our small tent. After that, we flew to Indonesia for 2 months, to the small island of Gili Air, after that to Vietnam for 1 month and now we are in Taiwan.

🙇 Speaking of jobs, Martin is a freelance graphic designer. Gabriela works as a Brand Manager in the marketing agency. Btw, Gabriela graduated in the social pedagogy and she is a good teacher as well. Now we work remotely for our clients in the Czech Republic.

🧑🏼‍🌾 Part of this dream is to volunteer somewhere in Europe. For the past 10 years, we have been living in Prague, but we grew up in the countryside and we like to do DIYs, renovations, cleaning, cooking, gardening, etc. It clears the mind, and we are happy after a good day of work.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

🤓 As we already mentioned, Gábi studied social pedagogy at Charles University in Prague, but professionally she works in marketing and public relations. Martin, on the other hand, has a Masters degree in graphic design and has been working in the field for several years.

🌿 We come from a small village and are used to the fact that maintaining a family home is a never-ending task. There is always something to repair, paint, mow, or clean. Martin also has a passion for restoring mid-century furniture. Our families didn’t have farms (apart from chickens, a pig, rabbits, bees, cats, and dogs), but we’re not afraid of hard work, and if you show us what needs to be done, we’ll quickly learn.

🔨 During our teenage years, we spent every summer doing seasonal jobs, which mostly revolved around repairs – sanding, painting, and general renovations of the environment around us.

🧑🏼‍🍳 We’re not professional chefs, but we love good food. We’re both used to cooking and would be happy to introduce you to Czech cuisine.

🙌🏻 We can also help with childcare. We come from families where it was always lively, with kids running around. Additionally, Gábi worked for three years in an educational-psychological counseling center with children with autism and ADHD. She also led leisure activities for preschoolers.

🇬🇧 Martin speaks English well. Gábi’s English is basic, but she’s improving! 😅
🇪🇸 We remember a few sentences in Spanish from our high school years.

We are a couple who have been together for 13 years (since high school), and we got engaged last year in Japan. Since university, we’ve been living in Prague, but we love escaping to the countryside to visit our families. We spend a lot of time in nature and enjoy bouldering, camping, hiking in the mountains, and climbing via ferratas. We find relaxation in manual work. We’re not fans of inactive ways of spending time, and since we work a lot sitting at computers, we like to balance it out with physical work or sports. Martin plays basketball, and Gábi practices yoga. We are big food and coffee lovers. Our favorite moments are when we share a meal at a big table with family or friends, who we now miss a lot while traveling. We’re team players, but when it comes to board games, we’re competitive—especially with each other. 😬
