Les activités qui nous intéressent :

We are currently traveling in Peru and are looking for a place in Central America to stay a bit and get involved in a project. Ideally this place is close to the ocean, as we love water activities.

Description

Hannah:
I find happiness in connecting with my natural surroundings and good souls. In recent years friendships have been a main source of happiness and energy. Additionally I find happiness in introperspective acitivities like painting and writing or just spending time in my thoughts. Until recently while living in a big city I was lacking more nature as a space to breathe through, relax and reconnect. So now I am enjoying experiencing other places, ways of life and people. I am not intending to return to big city life after my traveling phase :)

What motivates me? Experiencing life with all of its emotions, hopefully making a positive impact on the life of other beings. I am driven by the hope of a peaceful life in harmony with nature and people. Although I am host to dystopian thoughts, given the state of the planetary boundaries due to human environmental consumption. Nevertheless, I am trying to make the best out of every situation. And on a smaller scale: looking at a finished project and a smile on somones face are very good motivators.

Gabriel:
I enjoy spending time at the seaside, usually active swimming, snorkeling or diving. I tend to have too many hobbies to attend to, and I enjoy spending time with things that motivate me - being it a community, a project with the perspective of making the world a better place, or some skills I can learn / improve.

Enjoying the little things is important to me, as well as a diverse life with lots of different stuff going on. Currently I am working quite a lot on the motorcycle we're currently travelling with, and also at home I like to work with my hands and head to finish some handy projects.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

Hannah:
In my city life (Berlin) I have studied Geography and am currently working in a non-profit organisation for envirionmental education. This work mainly involves research, communication, administration, data base management and social media. Before my office jobs I used to work in a bakery, a cafe/restaurant and further service jobs. I always loved spreading positive energies onto customers and providing a service tailored to their wishes.

I have previously stayed with several helpx hosts (similar concept, other website) in Canada, Australia and New Zealand. Some tasks I've done for these hosts include repainting a car, painting walls, animal care, gardening, childcare, reorganizing and cleaning, helping with maintenance, taking care of holiday accommodation, database management, technical assistance with computer/phone, cooking and baking (I consider myself quite good at that), assisting in an art studio, helping to sell hair accessories on a market stall and many more.

I'd say my key strengths apart from a dedicated customer service are cooking, organising and mural painting. I can learn pretty anything you show to me and am very able to work on my own. I would love to improve my gardening knowledge as well as building and renovating skills.

Gabriel:
In my main job I am working in IT (network security), in which I usually work independent on customer projects on-site, often in an international context.

In my free time I enjoy working with my hands, being it in projects working with wood, or around the household, organising / working on festivals, working on my motorcycle, or whatever comes up.
I'm most happy spending time in groups and experiences what we can achieve once we put aside what separates us and work together :-)

Hannah:
I love board games of pretty much all sorts! I also enjoy making music together, I have been singing in choirs since age 3. I have some very basic yoga skills and would like to restart including this into my daily routines, as well as meditation. I consider myself to be an open-minded and creative person. In people I value honesty and kindness. As much as I enjoy good company I also need frequent resting times to myself to recalibrate and restore my social energies.

Gabriel:
Being more the tech guy myself, I work in IT in my main job. Despite that, I enjoy and always have enjoyed voluntary work and environments. At home I am currently active in the civil catastrophe relief (similar to firefighters, but with more heavy machinery), as well as we founded a housing cooperative for communal living and fighting the housing problems in our region. Furthermore I enjoy organising and participation in festivals, helping setting them up, celebrating and tidying up afterwards again, and I usually do all these things with my motorcycle :-)
