Hey!
My name is Julie, I was born and raised in Vienna and graduated high school in 2023. Since then I spent most of my time traveling and working in different countries of Europe. I loved it so much and I'm still in the middle of my adventures!

When I am at home I enjoy going for long walks with my grandparent's dog or riding my bike. What’s most important to me is spending time with my family and friends. We love playing card games, talking or watching a movie together. Due to the fact that I smile and laugh a lot, people often tell me that I have a positive energy:)

I am open minded and eager to learn new skills and to meet people from all over the world. I care for the environment, therefore I take part in small political actions and try living my life in a way that doesn't harm the climate too badly. I would consider myself a responsible and independent person and I am willing to do hard work. Growing up, my parents taught me to treat everyone with fairness and respect, which is still very important to me.

Furthermore, I love animals, nature, dancing and music. I feel comfortable when I am around animals, especially around dogs. I love that you can build up a friendship with them and of course I like it to cuddle :) Moreover, I've spent a lot of time with horses in my childhood, went vaulting and also learned horseback riding.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

First Workaway experience:

At my first workaway experience I fulfilled myself a childhood dream. In November and December 2023 I worked at a horse farm in the hills of Umbria, Italy. My chores where mostly feeding, mucking out, taking the 12 horses to their different paddocks and back to the stables and of course going for rides!

Second Workaway experience:

I enjoy working outside, especially with animals. So my second Workaway experience was at a husky farm in northern Norway. I worked there from January until may 2024. Originally I only planned to stay for two months but ended up staying for nearly half a year.
I learned incredibly much, for example working with tourists, mushing and also how it is to really work hard. My work there contained two main jobs. 1. I was as a tourist guide, I went dog-sledding with the guests two times a day, giving safety presentations, serving tea etc. and the 2. Job was feeding our 35 dogs twice a day, keeping their area clean and also building and painting new dog houses. Furthermore, I often took care of my hosts children and they ended up feeling like my little siblings.

I returned to the husky farm in October 2024 and stayed for four more months, helping with the start of the sledding season and teaching the new Workawayers everything about the life and work in the north.

In Vienna I also already gained experience in babysitting, both with younger and older children. Moreover, in my family, eating dinner together is kind of a tradition and I always learn a lot when I help out with the cooking. I often help my grandparents with their garden, and even though I might not be packed with muscles, I am strong and not at all afraid of hard work.
I am reliable and I take responsibility for my actions. I have a strong opinion which I express in respectful discussions and when my friends aren't in a good mood I am often the one who motivates everyone and cheers them up.

Furthermore, I regularly work at the front desk of a medical office, which taught me how to handle the wishes and complaints of patients.
I’ve spent my high school years in a school with a focus in arts, therefore I am familiar with things like pottery, screen printing or sewing. I love photography and I’ve been playing piano for some years now. Furthermore, I have knowledge of the steps of standard and latin dance.
