Description

Hi, I’m Kirsten, a 27-year-old from Belgium, currently exploring the world with my backpack since 2023. My journey started in Southeast Asia, followed by a vanlife adventure in New Zealand. Afterwards I hitchhiked from Kazakhstan back to Belgium and traveled through West Africa. Volunteering along the way, not only allows me to give back but also gives me the chance to truly understand and connect with different cultures. Though each day brings something new, the one constant in my life is my Spanish Duolingo class with a +365 day streak!

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

In Belgium, I worked for 3,5 years as a social worker with underaged refugees, teaching them Dutch, conducting socio-psychological screenings, and managing daily activities.

During my travels, I gained experience with volunteering. I worked in a hostel, teached English, gave psychosocial workshops on stress management and sexual education. In the past, I went to Sri Lanka for 6 months where I worked at a school for children with disabilities.

These experiences have taught me how to effectively work with people from diverse backgrounds and learning a lot through close collaboration with local communities.
