Hi! I'm Laura, 28, from Montreal, Québec. Nice to meet you!

I've worked in the arts and music industry for years in event production and festival management. Seeking a better work-life balance, I started working in fine dining. There I gained new interests in the artistry of winemaking, and deepened my love of cooking and beautiful food!

Now, seeking new horizons, I have decided to take the leap and move abroad for a year. I'll be in the Netherlands for the fall semester, and will be travelling over the summer.

I would love to explore my interests and curiosities more deeply. That is - slow living, living in symbiotic relationship with the land, learning the art of winemaking or spending time cooking with produce I helped grow / cultivate. I would also be happy helping in everyday activities with a family, teaching English, culture exchanging, and cooking. Overall, I am excited to expand my ways of thinking, seeing, and understanding the world and challenge myself to engage with life more intentionally.

I am a very open-minded and curious person. I love learning from others, their ways of understanding and I love! to! laugh! In french we say I’m a good publique haha.

I am an easygoing, empathetic, introspective, and warm person. I love learning, am a big fan of skill sharing, have a positive disposition, and am happy to get my hands dirty and contribute wherever help is needed.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I'm handy with hand tools and have basic carpentry skills. I helped my friends build a music venue and helped with building the stage, drywalling, painting, etc. I also built an urban garden on my balcony with 8 varieties of vegetables, a ton of herbs, flowers for pollinators, and a composting system - if ever a family would like help in starting their own!

I am also trained as a sound engineer and oil painter. I have experience serving and bartending and I loooove to cook.
