After a year of travelling in Central America, I (Tara)am home in Canada and road-tripping across our great landscapes. In the first leg I've headed east, now visiting Newfoundland for the first time.

Description

I’m recently retired from civil engineering design, and have become accredited with a diploma in TESOL (teaching English to speakers of other languages) through York University. I am home in Canada again after a year in Costa Rica as a classroom teacher for kids 6-13 at the small learning centre. I've set out to explore the provinces and regions I haven't visited, and am currently in Newfoundland! I've had some wonderful workaways in Ontario, Gros Morne, and now St. John's. I've had great reviews on my cakes, that I've baked for my hosts for their enjoyment now, and for their freezer to enjoy later!
I have included my daughter in my membership for Workaway. While she is busy as a Behavioural Specialist for Students with special needs in the school board where she works in Canada, she may have the opportunity ove rthe Summer of 2025 to take advantage of this network. She is capable and responsible!

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I have an interest in gardening and have quite a bit of experience with that. I am knowledgeable in automated computer drafting, and have tutored for practitioners in various disciplines: Mechanical and Woodworking, for example. AutoCad is a program used widely and sometimes a little direct technology transfer can help a lot. I was at one time, a professional cake baker!

I am interested in different cultures, history and cosmology! I’m a life-long learner and have farmed, gardened and cooked wherever I have lived. I have studied earth sciences and psychology; language and mythology; and even went to art school in my youth. My background is in environmental technology with my BSc, and I have eighteen years experience with the municipality designing ponds, ecologic rehabilitation of streams and of course pipe systems and all kinds of drainage.
