Description
My name is Marc, I'm a classical guitar and music theory teacher in Valencia, Spain.
I like to travel but I don’t like to be a tourist.
I like to get to know what it’s like to be from somewhere else through workaways or getting jobs. I’ve been to:
London,UK, working as a food runner at a seafood restaurant
Nevada, USA, working as a receptionist at a hostel
Warsaw, Poland working as a remote web designer
Adama, Ethiopia, volunteering with a social enterprise project
I enjoy working with kids and at my as a classical guitar and music theory teacher I work primarily with the 7-12 age range, though I’ve had students of all ages (4-60+).
My holidays are in July and August, and I’m looking to find workaways where I can travel and maybe offer my experience as a teacher, and to learn from those more experienced than me.
My previous experiences working with kids are:
Summer Camp in London (summer 2015, National Citizen Service) - running sessions to teach kids about social enterprise projects
Volunteer homework tutor in Exeter, UK (2016/17, CoachBright)
Online English teacher (2018-2020, iTutorGroup)
Summer Camp in Valencia, Spain (Summer 2022) - running musical activities
Summer Camp in Berlin, Germany (Summer 2023) - running fun activities in English.
Before I began working as a teacher, I studied a BSc in Economics with Politics and Philosophy (University of Exeter, UK) and an MSc in Experimental Psychology (Conversion) in Bristol, UK.
I started freelancing as a web designer and content writer for psychotherapists, which developed into web design and writing for a number of industries (finance, import/export companies, app launches, real estate etc.)
My hobbies include reading and playing football.
