Hey there!

After spending most of my life chasing a career in engineering, I eventually realized that sitting in front of a computer wasn’t giving me the kind of unforgettable moments I craved. So, I decided to flip the script and completely change my lifestyle.

On my (sometimes challenging) journey from geek to traveler, I’ve explored quite a few places, tried all kinds of new things, and—guess what?—I’m still hungry for more adventures! But honestly, the best part of it all has been the amazing people I’ve met along the way. They’re what make every experience unforgettable. I’m hoping for a few more exciting opportunities before I settle down.

The projects that have meant the most to me are the ones focused on conservation or working with animals. There’s just something special about giving back to nature. I’m also a super social person, so I love working with like-minded people who share that same energy and passion.

As for hobbies, music is a huge part of my life—I play guitar and piano, and I’d be happy to teach you a thing or two! I’m really into sports as well; I regularly play floorball, volleyball, and enjoy jogging, disc golf, swimming, and yoga. And one last thing—I’m a bookworm at heart. My Kindle is my constant travel buddy.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

Here’s a bit about my experience: I’ve guided and taken care of huskies and horses in Finland, worked as an in-room dining server at a luxury hotel, been an activity guide at a mountain center, a guide and hospitality manager in Iceland, a maintenance guy at a US recreation resort, a prep cook in a Mexican restaurant, and a barista/bartender in New Zealand… just to name a few!

I like to think I was a reliable and hardworking employee. If needed, I can happily share contacts for my past supervisors or provide references.

I’ve also studied abroad, which helped me become confident in spoken English. Besides that, I can offer my native Czech, along with some basics in German and Spanish.

On top of that, I have strong computer and engineering skills. I used to work as a computer scientist and specialist in Automation/AI, so I’d be happy to help out with anything tech-related too.

Lastly, I’ve got teaching experience! During my Ph.D. studies, I taught Czech and international students how to code, use electrical measurement devices, and work with camera-based inspection systems.

I just wanted to say that I’m not a picky person at all. As long as there’s a roof over my head, I’m happy – I don’t mind a small space or simple meals!

Also, even though I’m independent and can work hard without someone watching over me, I joined Workaway because I really want to meet people and connect. So, I’d love it if we could spend some time together – please don’t leave me completely on my own!
