Description
Hi future hosts! We are Melody ＆ Adam, two backpackers from Budapest with a thirst for knowledge, adventure, and real-life experiences. We will be traveling across South America between November 2024 and March 2025 and are looking for workaway opportunities.
We come from a background where the love and respect of nature, physical activity, and hard work are all essential values. In line with these, our goal is to live a less individualistic life and learn how to live in harmony with nature. We want to learn about plants, permaculture, organic farming, nature conservation, and self-sustainability. We also have a particular interest in environmental harm reduction, sustainable traveling, societal issues and yoga as a whole. We are friendly, respectful, open-minded, accepting, calm, and not afraid of getting our hands dirty.
Our hobbies include trekking, kayaking, snorkeling, snowboarding, reading and journaling. Melody is also keen on doing orienteering and solving logical puzzles, while Adam likes to cycle and play the guitar and is interested in sustainable crafting. We love animals and staying in nature. We would be happy to lend a hand with anything we can do, and even happier to learn what we cannot yet! Looking forward to hearing from you! 🙂

Quelles sont vos compétences ?
Melody has some preliminary experience with farming and bioconstruction from previous work exchanges. She has worked as a live-in au pair looking after children, and as an accountant. She has a lot of either paid or voluntary work experience as an event organizer (sporting events and music festivals). She’s good with Microsoft Office tools.
She has been practicing orienteering, and going on hiking/camping trips since she was a child, so feels comfortable in the wilderness.
Adam is experienced in minor craft projects such as assemblying and fixing shelves, furniture or lower level technical equipment. He has worked as animator in an animal themed family day care, as bartender, as customer service representative, and as IT data analyst. He is experienced with Microsoft Office tools, and with BI/data visualization tools like PowerBI or Tableau. He’s also familiar with programming languages like Python, SQL, HTML and CSS.
His family has a rural cottage where they grow fruits and vegetables in small quantities, so he is comfortable with farm work.
We both have experience working in hotels as receptionists and housekeepers. We are in good physical shape.
