Actuellement, je suis

Description

I am motivated to have new adventures, and live in countries other than my own, in order to meet new people, have authentic experiences and learn about other cultures.
I am a teacher and have taught children from the ages of 0-18, and I have also taught adults of all ages. I teach adults in Education, so I am teach prospective teachers.
I am keen to improve my basic French speaking, and meet others from different backgrounds than my own.
I am very active and I enjoy running, swimming, skiing, cycling, dancing, hiking, kayaking, rowing and most outdoor activities.
I also enjoy playing all sorts of games - cards, chess, scrabble, board games, and active games.
I have a good sense of humour and like discussing a range of topics.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I am a trained teacher, with over 30 years experience teaching all age groups, from babies to adults.
My original training was in Physical Education, and then I moved into Primary school teaching (5-12 years), and then Secondary Teaching (12-18 years). I taught Physical Education, Maths, English, Music and Art to Secondary school aged children and all subjects to Primary school aged children.
I then taught at Newcastle University, training adults to be Early Educators, Primary Teachers and Secondary teachers.
I have taught English to children and young adults overseas in China, Malaysia, Indonesia and Papua New Guinea.
Last year I taught English to young adults at a vocational college in Tulle, France, and I also participated in a language immersion programme in Spain.
I have vast experience (over 20 years) in supporting and assisting children with disabilities. I strongly believe in the inclusion model, where those with disabilities are supported to be included in regular educational settings
I have a Teaching Diploma in Physical Education and Master Degree in Special Education, specializing in Early Childhood. I have recently applied to do a PhD in a psycholgy/education area.
Aside from teaching, I am proficient at most sports and outdoor activities. I can play the piano and guitar and read music. I enjoy dancing, gardening, reading, cooking, sewing, and playing games such as cards, board games, chess, and scrabble.

I enjoy many outdoor sports and activities - swimming, hiking, running, cycling, skiing, kayaking, body boarding.
I love music and can sing, play the piano and guitar, and read written music notation.
I love dancing and have learned several types of dance styles. I regularly attend modern jive dance classes.
I regularly play all sorts of games e.g. chess, cards, scrabble and many board games (AZUL, Code Names, Monopoly, cribbage, Risk, and many more).
I enjoy cooking, sewing, gardening, writing and reading.
I am very interested in sustainable living, caring for the planet and our surroundings, social justice and political issues, inclusion and human rights.
