Hey there!

I’m Tobi, 35 years old, originally from Germany. My native language is German, but feel free to chat with me in English!

Since 2017, I’ve been living full-time as a digital nomad, exploring more than 25 countries—always accompanied by my loyal Siberian Husky, Neo (now 9 years). A few years ago, we welcomed Maya, a gentle, street-smart rescue from Russia. She’s now 6 and just as travel-savvy as Neo. Both are very well-behaved (I was actively posting photos and videos of our travels, ask me for their Instagram profiles if you're curious!).

From Vanlife to Base Life – A Travel Evolution:

I started my journey in a self-built campervan, traveling across Europe while working remotely. In the winter of 2022/23, I brought my van on his final adventure to Portugal, where I set up a small off-grid property that became my winter base for two seasons. Last year, I decided to sell it and shift how I travel.

These days, I move around with a station wagon (combi limousine), focusing on longer stays in fewer places—a lifestyle that gives me more time to work, create, and connect locally. I now bring a compact but professional setup wherever I go: laptop, external screen, microphone, keyboard, and cameras. So I’m ideally looking for hosts who can offer a comfortable indoor space with a proper desk for my digital work.

In contrast to my earlier, constantly-moving lifestyle, I’ve now also created a summer base in southern Hungary, in the home village of my grandfather, whose roots are German. There, I’ve restored an old wine cellar, giving it an industrial look, and turned it into a creative space and streaming studio—a base where I can work, film, and host collaborators during the warmer months.

Hosting & What I’m Looking For:

Since I’m no longer traveling in a campervan, I now look for hosts who can provide housing for me and my two dogs. Both dogs are used to travel and different environments—calm, quiet, and social.

I travel less frequently and more slowly now, staying in one location for weeks or months at a time. I’m currently looking for a winter host, ideally somewhere in the south where it’s mild and bright enough for creative work and outdoor time with the dogs.

Key things I’m looking for: A quiet indoor space with a desk, stable internet (for uploads & remote work) and a safe, dog-friendly environment

What I Can Offer:

Over the past years, I’ve not only worked remotely on creative and digital projects, but also built a strong sense of teamwork, leadership, and hands-on collaboration.

I’ve personally hosted more than 30 volunteers at different stages of my journey—either at my former winter base in Portugal or now at my summer base in Hungary. I have solid experience in guiding, coordinating, and mentoring people from around the world, and I truly enjoy creating an inspiring and productive environment for others. I believe in co-creation and good vibes—and I know how to bring a team together, even when people come from very different walks of life.

I was the founder and CEO of the non-profit organization DOGS OF EUROPE e.V., which focused on rescuing and rehoming dogs across Europe. For many years, I managed the organization hands-on—developing projects, coordinating volunteers, and running outreach across multiple countries. This experience gave me deep insight into coordination, project management, communication, and long-term planning, especially within a remote and international team environment.
