Hello!!
I'm Toby. I'm from the UK. For the last two years I've been working as a Geoscientist and before that studying Geology.

I love nature, reading (currently reading Braiding Sweet Grass) , gardening, conservation, running, walking, cooking (well I try).

I'm looking to gain experience in all walks of life. I'd love to see alternative ways of living and learn a more practical set of skills.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I have a few hobbiest skills:
- Gardening - For the two years I've only had the gravel backyard that came with the house I was renting to work with. So I had to improvise and got some free old car tyres that I reused to make garden beds, planting a selection of herbs and flowers. Moreover, in the past as part of the conservation society I was in, I was very active at their collective allotment, growing; tomatoes, string beans, potatoes, strawberries and much more :)
- Conservation - I have been active in a few conservation communities in the last 5 years. I have done dead headging, headge planting, invasive species cut back, created a forrest butterfly glade, bird shelters and much more.

My background is one of Geology, which is what I studied at University and then have gone on to do as part of my career. Through this I have knowledge in:
- Field work/ Outdoor work
- Mapping
- Rock and Soil characteristics

I have worked as a Geoscientist and surveyor for the last two years. Key skills involving:
- Surveying, particularly drone surveying
- GIS/ digital mapping
- Organising/ managing jobs involving multiple people

Previous to this I have worked as a till worker and general store worker. Key skills involve:
- Customer Service
- Till work
- Cleaning
- Stock organisation

I'm keen to do more art. I've been getting into painting recently. I'm not very good but would love to paint some of the landscapes I'm travelling to.

I love to run and want to continue this while travelling.

I play and watch football. I have a long list of teams which I support: Arsenal, Reading, Oxford, Charlton
