Hello and Bonjour my name is Eileen and I am Canadian. I grew up in the province of Ontario.

I am a retired French Immersion teacher with 4 grown children who thankfully are independent and responsible adults.

This gives me the time to explore and have adventures. I have lived in Quebec City, France (twice) and New Zealand (twice). I have travelled in other countries as well and have thoroughly enjoyed many of my experiences. They were definitely experiences that were difficult however these situations have given me the opportunity to grow.

My friends are unable to travel for reasons as they are still working or have retired but are not physically well enough to travel nor work. So I am a solo traveller.

Connecting with people from different cultures, provinces and countries give me great pleasure. I enjoy being busy and so the idea of a working holiday is enticing. I am eager to learn and participate in environments that are new to me and would otherwise be out of reach.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?
I can work outdoors in virtually any capacity and am a team player. I have experience with horses as I use to be a barrel racer. I can dig and plant new gardens, teach, cook, bake and play guitar, piano, mandolin and ukulele.

Any host who welcomes Eileen or her friend Monica will be very blessed - they are very wonderfully sweet and kind and went above and beyond in their help. They worked hard to help in the garden and in the house and it was also fun to get to them as well. Spending time at Andrea's was wonderful. She is easygoing and made us feel very welcomed. Monica and I had comfortable beds to sleep in and Andrea treated us to her international cooking style. She is very willing to jump into help where ever needed, she communicates very well with the Team, she went out off her way to make other volunteers feel comfortable. Cheri and Viet were very welcoming. I learned a great deal about how they helped rescued horses become healthy. They have many outdoor cats, 8 dogs, several donkeys, a miniature pony called Snowflake and about 30 horses.

Kay and Bill picked us up in Lufkin (which is 55 minutes from their place) and brought us to a July 4th barbecue hosted by their church. It was great to meet so many people at once. They were very welcoming and friendly.

Eileen is an awesome worker - no task is too large for her. She takes initiative and follows all rules. If she contacts you to come to your site accept her and you will not be disappointed.
