Hey there! I'm Emily, from Germany. I'm currently studying to become a teacher for English, history and German as a second/foreign language, which I'm really enjoying. I'm so excited to be going abroad as part of my studies - not everyone gets the chance to do this!
The main goal is to not only learn about the country, but also its fascinating culture, and to improve my language skills :D. I'm particularly excited to explore Ireland, Scotland and Malta. I'll be travelling from May to September, and then I'll be focusing on my exams. I'd love to find 2 shorter stays, maybe 3-4 weeks each, and a longer one of about 6 weeks, but I'm sure that will be manageable :)
I just love having fun and trying new things, and I'm always up for it! It's rare for me to be down, and motivation is easy for me to find :)
When I'm not working or studying, I love to get out and about, and try new activities. I'm into weight training, bouldering and ballet. When I'm not working or studying, you'll usually find me outside enjoying nature with a good book or my crochet hook (you can see some of my projects in the pictures) :). On top of my studies, I work as a tutor and in an ice cream parlour.
A friend told me about WorkAway and said it was an amazing way to travel. She's been using it a few times and loves it! I have a feeling I'm going to have the same experience! :)

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I had a lovely childhood, growing up on a big farm where we spent a lot of time in the garden and growing our own fruit and veg. My grandparents also had rabbits, chickens, ducks and turkeys (of course, a good farm should also have dogs and cats). During school, I also did an internship with a vet, which I really enjoyed.
I started helping out around the house as well, because I realised that working outside the home is really important, but so is helping out at home. Since I was 16, I've been working in an ice cream parlour, which has taught me so much about independence, teamwork and discipline. Since 2021, I've also been working as an online tutor, which I love! It's given me such great preparation for working with children later on, and I love it!
Apart from that, I speak fluent German and English, had Latin and Sorbian at school and am currently trying to teach myself French.
What else might be interesting is that I have been cutting not only my own hair since 2016, but also that of numerous friends :D And another thing might be that I have taken on a leading role in caring for my grandparents alongside my mum.
