Hello! Kia Ora!

My name is Haemi and I am a 24 year old Canadian that has relocated to the beautiful New Zealand on a working holiday visa!

After graduating university and working various part-time jobs with no clear direction of what I wanted to do next, I decided to pursue my dream to travel more, which is how I ended up here in New Zealand! As I have previously mentioned, I really enjoy traveling and have been to quite a few countries, but New Zealand is my first solo travel adventure. I love to talk about travel with others and would love to hear any travel stories from hosts or other workawayers while I am here, and I will of course share my own stories as well :)

Honestly, I am a quiet, reserved, and introverted individual, but I also love to spend quality time with my family and friends. Once I am settled and comfortable, I can talk for hours about anything and everything, of course I also enjoy sitting in comfortable silence while reading, phone scrolling, or even while I am in my own thoughts.

I also really enjoy listening to music at every moment possible, reading books, dancing, watching my favourite K-dramas, and I have started to really enjoy going out for walks and hikes since being here in New Zealand, and I am excited to discover more beautiful places here during my adventure!

One of my main goals while traveling (and possibly working) in New Zealand is learning more about myself, as well as learning about this beautiful country and its people, and that is my main motivation right now. I hope my travels will teach me a variety of new skills and help me to grow as a person, and of course let me meet many new people along the way.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I have lived with and cared for animals for the majority of my life, mostly cats, dogs, rabbits, fish.. the common pets! But I am always willing to learn how to take care of other animals that I may not have as much experience with, be it small rodents/birds or big farm animals (so long as you are comfortable with me learning the ropes).

I also really enjoy cleaning around the house, personally I find it quite therapeutic spending my time making my living space clean and comfortable, and the finished product is always rewarding. I am open to any cleaning tasks; washing dishes, laundry, vacuuming/sweeping, reorganizing spaces/storage, and the list goes on! And if there is something I am not familiar with, you just have to show me how it is done and I will do my best! Additionally, I have worked as a waitress and a barista back home, so I would say I can work quite efficiently and quickly when necessary (but I also like taking my time whenever I am able to).

I can also do outdoor work; gardening and other outdoor maintenance tasks that you may have. Again, you may need to show me how to do certain tasks, but I am always open to learning!

I would love to teach the languages I am learning, but I am quite bad at conversing in such languages and have an easier time just listening and reading. I am able to teach you the very basics of French and Korean if that interests you, but I would love to hopefully be fluent one day!
