Hi! My name is Harrison and I'm from Montreal, Canada. I worked at the Canadian Foreign Ministry for several yearas, but have now left to take on new adventures in 2024. I love travelling, meeting new people, experiencing new cultures and pushing myself outside of my comfort zone. I spent 3 years living in East & West Africa and am thinking of spending 2024 divided between learning about agriculture in Latin America & learning about the realities of indigenous peoples in Canada.

I want to stop working behind a computer for a bit and go out into the real world. I'm a very curious person who loves to ask questions and expand my understanding of what's out there. Can't wait to try some new things on Workaway!

I enjoy learning & informally teaching languages! I'm currently most focused at improving my Spanish (I'm at a low intermediate level now) but would certainly consider teaching in English or doing conversation practice with anyone in French!

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

In my professional life I've done a lot of teaching, research, data analysis and writing. I very much enjoy being in the classroom, leading discussion groups and asking good questions. I'm very comfortable with math & data, and enjoy demystifying those subjects & bringing them into the real world.

I've worked cross-culturally as well, having spent significant time in East & West Africa conducting interviews and co-leading research teams. Personally, I love meeting new people and learning about their opinions & experiences.

I also love language learning - being from Montreal I learned French at a young age, I speak intermediate Spanish and basic Korean & Swahili.
