Description

Hello my name is Laura and welcome to my profile.
Im in my 40s but still feel like in my 30s😃
I am positive, active, adaptable, compassionate, punctual, organised, clean, friendly, non smoker, non drinker, always looking for exploring new ways to improve.

I find happiness in traveling, sunshine, beach, foraging, line dancing, singing, family,
meeting culturally and spiritually rich people, good food, nature, animals, walking, biking, sports, books, meditation, board games, traditions, ancient cultures.

I have range of skills and willing to help at any job to make my volunteering experience diverse and exciting.

FARM ANIMALS
I have grown up in countryside with horses, caws, pigs, chickens, rabbits, dogs, cats. I have helped out with mucking out, bringing them in from fields, feeding. I enjoy spending time with animals big and small and care for their wellbeing 🐂🐎

GARDENING
My gramma had large vegetable and fruit garden so I was growing up knowing where my food comes from. I might forgot that a bit later as a adult, but after watching movie "The biggest little farm" I got back of eating healtier food and care where my food comes from. I have finished "Introduction to permaculture course" where I learned about importance of seed saving and growing heritage vegetables and fruit.
Have volunteered previously at "Incredible Edible"  where I helped out with all aspects of growing food from preparing vegetable beds, seeding, weeding, harwesting.

ORGANISING FUN ACTIVITIES
I have beautiful twin girls who are now adults and both working in equestrian industry. I would love to look after children as my workaway experience- playing games, sports, dance or sing together.
I have played a bit of basketball, volleyball, tennis, iceskating, swimming. Also i love table games like foosball, pool, pingpong.
This year i have found out about line dancing and think its a great way to excercise body and mind and have fun together.
I love board games and will never say no to game of UNO, Sleaping Queans or Bingo😃
I also love singing, have learned quite a bit of Disney songs with my daughters when they were young, but also love to sing traditional latvian songs.

DOGS
I have done dog sitting and dog walking for 10 years as my job so would love to volunteer in the place where i can look after furry friendly dogs🐶😍
I love long walks, exploring new places, can play games with your dog, run around and have a great time together.

GESTHOUSE CLEANING
I have worked as a office and house cleaner for 2 years so can make your gesthouse spotless. Have great sense of where things should go, making it look clean and tidy.

KITCHEN, PREPARING MEALS
Im not the greatest cook, but I enjoy chopping vegetables and making various dishes from recipe.
Can also tidy up, clean the dishes, tables etc.

OTHER JOBS
Have bit of knowledge of DIY, know how to paint, or repair some things, can chop wood, cut grass. From previous volunteering experience at "Fordhall Community Farm" have helped out with building straw bale house as community project with many other volunteers.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

FARMING- mucking out, feeding, grooming, caring for animal wellbeing, understanding some animal behaviour, how to approach animals from side and introducing myself first, giving cuddles strokes and scratches, following hygiene instructions, arriving and leaving work on time.
GARDENING- prepering garden, digging, seeding, weeding, watering, harwesting, grass cutting, wood chopping, tidying up/putting all tools away after work, litter picking, emtying bins, use of some motor tools,
ORGANISING ACTIVITIES - line dancing, sports, boardgames, fun activities, doing quizes, forming groups for activities, making decorations, safeguarding children, explaining rules/ instructions, teaching fun facts, being patient and kind.
KITCHEN- food peperation, following recipes, cooking from recipe, tidying up, cleaning
PEOPLE SKILLS- polite, clean, organised, active, punctual, compassionate, teamwork, working on my own, understanding and following instructions.
