  • Description

Hi! I'm Zoë - currently travelling overland from Europe to Asia, slowly and consciously, aiming to leave the smallest ecological footprint possible.

I'm a curious and open-hearted person who loves to learn, discover new places, meet people, and share stories. I’m deeply interested in how people live and connect in different parts of the world, and I enjoy spending time in nature, working with my hands, and being around animals.

I’m especially keen to learn more about permaculture, sustainable living, animal care, and participating in art or community projects. Along the way, I’ll be volunteering through WWOOF and Workaway, on ecological farms, in creative spaces, and with animals. I travel mostly by train, bus, or ferry (I don’t take planes) and I eat as consciously as I can (mostly vegan, sometimes vegetarian), aiming for a low-waste lifestyle.

Back home in Brussels, I teach in a Waldorf (Steiner) secondary school. I give lessons in basket weaving, bookbinding, working with clay, artistic expression, drawing, painting, sculpture, and art and architectural history. I love how creativity, learning, and personal development weave together - whether in school or out in the world.

I also have a deep love for animals. I used to have a miniature poodle, trained as a therapy dog, who joined me in class to support students. Her calm, warm presence is something I carry with me still.

I find joy in simple things: a long walk, hands in the earth, shared meals, silence, music, deep conversation, and moments of real connection.

In quieter moments, I love reading - especially books about nature, psychology, art, and society. Some authors who inspire me are Gabor Maté, Yuval Noah Harari, and John Berger, for their deep insights into human nature, history, and the way we see the world.

  • Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I think I have a mix of creative, practical, and people-oriented skills. I’ve worked in hostels via Workaway and also volunteered on a pomegranate farm, where I helped with gardening, pruning, and general maintenance. I enjoy being hands-on, learning by doing, and contributing wherever help is needed.

As a Waldorf (Steiner) teacher in a secondary school, I’ve gained a lot of experience guiding both practical and artistic activities. I teach basket weaving, bookbinding, cardboard design, clay modelling, drawing, painting, sculpture, and art history, and I love sharing these skills with others. I’m used to working with different age groups, creating structure, and adapting to individual needs — always with warmth and patience.

In addition to classroom work, I’ve also supported and co-organised outdoor learning weeks, like forestry camps and agricultural weeks, where I helped guide students in hands-on work with the land.

I feel comfortable in both independent and collaborative settings, and I adapt easily to new environments. I speak several languages (Dutch, English, French, and Spanish), and enjoy working with people from diverse backgrounds.

I also have a deep love for animals, and some experience with animal care - including training my former miniature poodle as a classroom therapy dog.

I’m reliable, open-minded, and not afraid to get my hands dirty - whether it’s in the garden, kitchen, on the land, or in creative projects.
