I spent 2 weeks with Beverly in August this year. It was a lovely time. Beverly provided me with a list of projects which needed attention and which I was free to alternate over the course of the days/weeks which was great. I mainly helped around the garden (weeding, weed-whacking etc.) and did some sanding/prepped the house for a paint job. We
… read more had interesting and stimulating conversations and I learned a lot for which I am very grateful for. Beverly enjoys a healthy life style and it was great to meet someone like minded. We also went on some trips together which allowed me to get to know the surrounding countryside a bit better, again a wonderful experience. This was my first workaway experience and it was just what I needed. I stayed with Beverly for 1.5 weeks in March and it was like a home away from home- it didn't feel like work at all! She made a list of things to do at the beginning (cooking, baking, garden work, cleaning, organizing, etc) so I chose each day a few things to check off the list!
… read more I learned so many delicious new recipes which were gluten free and super healthy (it was so nice staying with someone who is gluten free like myself). Beverly took me on a beautiful hike to lookout over Cowichan Valley (stunning), and I joined her on some rainy walks as well :). This was a great experience with a wonderful workaway host, and someone I now call my friend. I will cherish all of the deep life chats and all that Beverly has taught me about nutrition & a healthy lifestyle! I stayed about 1.5 weeks with Beverly. I was cooking and baking and also doing gardenwork. Beverly explained me, how to cook, so it was really no problem and i had really fun with that. I also learned some really good new meals from here. I will try in Germany. I also helped in the garden, i could choose for myself, what i want. Gardenwork or
… read more cooking or both. I have made both. Beverly also showed me around (we have done hikings together and have been to the beautiful mistic beach). Thanks for that. If you like it a bit quieter (no big city), enjoy hiking, the landscape, the sea .. than, it is a good place for you. Thanks very much Beverly, that i could stay at your place. Ulla has been a pleasure to have stay in my home. She worked hard to accomplish all the yard work and was able to happily follow instructions and direction with regard to tasks being completed. She is also a tidy, quiet guest and I would definitely recommend her if you are considering having a workawayer guest.

This was my first proper workaway experience.
I stayed with Beverly for 1,5 weeks in May and had such a great time. I mainly did gardening and housework while I was there. Bev was very flexible about the hours and let me choose my schedule and days off. Instructions for the things that needed to be done were specific and clear just how I like

Aside from the working aspect:
Since Beverly is a nutritionist the food was amazing (by my standards :) organic and lots of veggies and meat) and the room I stayed in was spacious and bright.
The area is beautiful and Bev took me on several hikes nearby but also further away, to Cowichan Bay and also to a part of the West Coast during my stay.
We had lots of fun in general. From movie night, to hiking to cooking together.
