Edwina and Doug were very welcoming, chatty and kind to us during our visit. They have a lovely home with great views of the Peninsula, the house is close to the city centre and not far from the beach if you drive. Our work consisted mainly of some garden work, we were also involved in cooking family meals/cleaning the kitchen and dropping their

We were disappointed that we could not stay in their separate cottage as advertised on their page as this was a key reason we chose this host, we didn't find out until we arrived that we would be staying in a small bedroom on two single beds, located between the family kitchen and television room. Being in the midst of family life was a bit too chaotic for us as peaceful people who enjoy our own space, we were also hoping for some more clear boundaries between when we were not working or working/being asked to help with things. We did choose to leave early because of this.
Overall we would recommend a stay here, but I think it is important that the hosts page should more accurately reflect the accommodation for future workawayers to be able to make an informed decision about their choice of host.

I enjoyed three weeks at this wonderful family's home. It will be very hard to find a more welcoming, generous and kind group of people! I helped out with the kids, mainly playing with LEGO and taking them to school, as well as cooking, cleaning, sorting, laundry and a tiny bit of garden work. Thank you so much Edwina for an amazing stay. Unfortunately didn't get to meet Doug over my three weeks or so that I stayed but I got to know Edwina, Saskia and Anouska really well. I mostly helped with childcare however I also did some gardening and household tasks. It was a lovely base to explore Dunedin from and Edwina kindly let me borrow

we had an awesome time staying with edwinas family ! We planned to stay 4 days but stayed for 2 weeks. Anou and Saskia are lovely little woman! It was a pleasure to get to know them all. I would highly recommend to stay with this host ;)

I stayed for one week at this paradise. Edwina was together with her lovely daughter Saskia.
They were so friendly and welcoming. The place is a dream and it is so nice to have your own cabin with a beautiful view.

It was really nice to work together in the garden and make the garden ready to grow. It was really nice to make a bit, high and hot.
We went to the farmersmarket together and that was a lot of fun.
It was my first workaway experience and it was great! Thank you so much again Edwina and Saskia (and Doug and Anoushka).

Such a good time stay here. My private flat with amazing view on lake and sheep under terrace. Flat is pretty tiny and old style but i felt comfortable here. Like a small adventure but in the good way! And whole family is wonderful. Really warm place to stay. I was a lil bit sad i have to leave. Thanks and wish you all the best. :)
