It was a great experience to have Nadja as a workawayer. Reliable, open , very friendly and with a good Sense of Humor, we immediately connected.
She has a good spirit with pets and kept my place perfectly.

I was looking after veras cats and watering her plants for about week and loved everything about it. We had a good conversation in the beginning and Vera made the tasks very clear and understandable. The cats and I had a chill time, they are cute, a bit shy in the beginning, but very easy to handle. There was a lot to explore around the beautiful
… read more area in Charlottenburg and a weekly farmers marked right in front of the door. The appartment was super cozy and quiet too. If you have the chance to stay at Veras place, take it!

The apartment is situated in the heart of Charlottenburg, West Berlin, offered a cozy and inviting atmosphere. The neighborhood is rich with cafes, bakeries, and markets, making daily life there delightful.
The apartment is very silent too - I slept like a baby.
Overall, my time at Vera's was enriching, offering a unique blend of comfort, responsibility, and local immersion. I enjoyed our conversation a lot. I am grateful. This was my first workaway experience and couldn't have been better. It was dreamy.
Vera is a lovely human being, she was waiting for me with dinner when I arrived very late on a Friday night, and she explained everything about the apartment and my tasks, but we also talked about our current projects and plans. She left the next morning to her
… read more destination, and we kept in touch from now and then for specific questions and to schedule the handover and the date of her arrival. Communication with her was always easy and fluid.
I stayed for 3 weeks at Vera's apartment, my job was to take care of the two cats, Leo and Laila, and watering the plants in the two balconies. So the tasks were basically feeding the cats every morning and evening, cleaning their bathrooms located in one of the balconies, and watering the plants on mornings and evenings depending on the heat outside. This is, clearly, not a difficult job and doesn't take much time but it does require daily attention. If you love cats, plants and flowers, it feels more like a blessing than a responsibility.
The apartment is beautiful, cozy and with a very chill vibe, I instantly felt at home. It is located in the heart of Charlottenburg, in West Berlin, a gorgeous neighborhood filled with cafés and delicious bakeries, restaurants and art galleries. There's a supermarket less than one block away, where I used to buy my groceries, and it is close to buses, trains and subways. A cute market with delicious local produce takes place twice a week on the park, just one block away. You can buy groceries or drink a freshly squeezed grapefruit juice while a stranger plays Erik Satie on a street piano. So… if you want to try the local life in Berlin this is the perfect opportunity for that.
Oh, and the bedroom where the volunteer stays is connected to one of the balconies, so waking up every morning and opening the door to that view was soul pampering. It really felt inspiring to stay here and everyone who gets to do it will be very lucky.
I left a couple of days ago and I already miss playing with Leo and Laila while we listen to Frank Sinatra on the CD player in the living room or walking to my favorite bakery in the morning to get a cappuccino and a spritzringe.
