  Hello!
  We are a Portuguese- Dutch couple with a two year old son, living on a beautiful hill in the region of the Valles Pasiegos, in Cantabria, the north of Spain.
  
  There are about 3 hectares of meadow and forest and two stone cabins that have been abandoned for many years and that are going to need a lot of work to turn them back into a home.
  At the moment we are living in a cosy caravan and moving forward in the process of creating a home.
  
  The area here is beautiful, you can make stunning hikes, right from where we live. There are rivers and waterfalls in the surroundings, the ocean is about 50 km away.
  The nearest small town is called Vega de Pas and is about 10 km away.

  Although your cultural experience over here will be in Spain, you will have a mixed Portugees-Dutch-Spanish experience :-)
  You can communicate in any of these languages with us, as well as in English and German if you like.
  
  We like to share our skills, things we have learned by doing and learning things from other people. We love to travel and to meet new people, and being able to receive travellers at our place, when we are not travelling ourselves, is a great way of sharing, and some extra hands to help around are always welcome :-)
  There is a lot you can learn by doing over here!
  We have two bicycles available that you can use if you like.

  Ajuda

  The expected hours of help are 5 hours a day 5 days a week, plus sharing of the cooking and cleanup tasks. And maybe sometimes playing a bit with our son, while we prepare the food .
  We enjoy working and cooking and hope that we can enjoy it together.
  We have nice walking paths arround... and views also :)

  Acomodação

  We can offer you a tent to sleep in, or you can bring your own tent. People travelling in campers are also very welcome.

  If you feel like spending some time with us, then just contact us and ask us if you have any questions.
  It would be very nice if you can send us a small video, telling us something about yourself, what you are hoping to experience as a volunteer, what it is that makes you interested in spending some time with us, or whatever you would like to tell or ask us.

  We don't have a lot of comfort, we live close to nature and an outside living type😁. We enjoy it, but we just want to warn you, as it is probably not for everyone…
  
  We are “off grid”... We have a Solar system for energy, a basic compost toilet, a warm shower in a small outdoor building and a small outdoor kitchen.
  
  We offer breakfast that everyone takes the way he or she likes and 2 meals a day that we cook and enjoy together. We mostly eat vegetarian and sometimes fish.
  
  We have hosted volunteers at the place we used to live before and have been volunteers ourselves in the past. We really hope to be able to give everybody visiting us, a meaningful, nice and inspiring time!

  If you are travelling with a campervan, then please contact us to see if your camper can reach our place, since the last km of road is too narrow for big campers. But if you are travelling with a bigger camper, than you are off course also very welcome, you can park on a spot 10 minutes walking away from our place.
