The family was so bright, and so welcoming to new people, and I felt that they really cherish the human networks a lot :) So you will be welcomed with a warm atmosphere even in the first meeting.
I especially loved the moment when we ate a meal together. Coming across so many conversations and kids' energy, I ate a delicious meal Tamara and Sergio made (muy rico!)
Moreover, we made sushi together, and I am very grateful that you prepared so many things for sushi. I was so happy to see kids having fun making and eating sushi and using chopsticks 😂, and it helped us communicate a lot.
Although I could not speak Spanish, this opportunity means a lot; the family is always willing to teach Spanish, and kids also taught me a lot of Spanish (examples are flor, alga, pájaro...), and they are so kind since they tried to understand my awkward Spanish :) Also, I could use a lot of Spanish because I had a lot of time to go around Zaragoza.
Lastly, if you are thinking of doing workaway, this family is really great (mejor!!), and the time in Zaragoza would be something that you cannot forget! The work was not really "work" because I had so much fun with them: picking up kids, organizing stuff, clearing up after eating!

My first workaway experience has been amazing thanks to Sergio, Tamara and the 3 children! I absolutely loved my stay here with them. They were so accommodating and reassuring and were always there to answer my questions. … read more school. I wish I could have done more for this family as they provided me with some super tasty meals (lunch & Dinner!) and provided me with a local bus/tram pass. I had plenty of time to explore and I was even able to take day trips to the lovely city of Tarazona and Pamplona! I was completely immersed in the culture by spending El Dia de Reyes Magos with them and being invited with them and their friends to watch the town parade in the city centre. Location is great! The tram is a 3 minute walk from the building (if that!) and goes right into the centre. There is also a nice canal near by which I used to run around as well as plenty of shops and eateries. I hope to return this year and spend more time with this lovely family! <3

… read more could talk about the spanish culture and thanks to Tamara we were able to taste the most popular Spanish dishes as well. Thank you for giving us so much suggestions about what should we visit. Zaragoza was interesting and a very loveable city and we really enjoyed when we could join them and swim in the new pool at your new flat. We also visited Loarre and Alquezar by car which were our favourite places in the region.
In August, our job was mostly to help around the garden, which was actually very fun for the two of us as a couple. We didn’t have that much experience working in a garden together, and it was challenging in a good way as we made some great memories together.
For the next workawayers spending some time with Sergio, Tamara and the kids it is very much recommended, as it will be so much fun and laughter around the kids.

… read more after and played with the kids on some days and on other days I did household tasks like folding the laundry, tidying the playroom or collecting leaves in the garden. Sergio and Tamara told me about a spanish course which I went to and really enjoyed. In my freetime I liked to go to Zaragoza center and meet with other aupairs or go to the several cafés infront of the beautiful Pilar and walk along the river. Every evening we ate a great dinner together and I learned alot about the spanish cuisine and culture.

During our stay, we helped out with some manual work in the renovation of the family's flat and painted some of the entrance fence, as well as general household jobs like dishes, cleaning, and folding washing. … read more unforgettable. Tamara and Sergio are wonderful people who are always ready to explain, help, and are very considerate. I truly appreciated that they introduced me to my work one thing at a time and gave me only workload that I was capable to manage (so that I don't work overtime and in general just feel good). I folded clothes, cleaned the kitchen after breakfast, cleaned the floors, loaded/emptied the dishwasher, set the table for dinner, looked after the kids in the evening, fed Sweetie {the dog} and Millán {the cat} (note that not everything was done every single day). Tamara also adjusted her cooking (which is excellent!) and the pantry to my allergies. I could use the kitchen whenever and did have to cook for myself only during the weekends. Those and my free time during the week I spent discovering Zaragoza (having been provided by a bus card to get to the city centre as well as numerous recommendations on what to see there from Sergio), went for a day-trip to Barcelona and to Madrid, and with my two fellow Workawayers (Tom and Tomas - great people, five stars to them too :DD - who were also staying with the fam at the same time as myself) visited Monasterio de Piedra and the adjacent park (a must in my opinion). Spanish-wise I came with some classroom knowledge of the language and Sergio and Tamara really helped me to improve it, being okay with repeating themselves when I did not understand and correcting my mistakes. Furthermore, I got to know the culture together with the mouth-watering Spanish cuisine. The whole experience was a dream come true!

You will have a great time sharing their everyday life, and if you are wanting to practice your Spanish skills, this is the perfect opportunity. You get to stay in a lovely big room with a gorgeous cat who loves to come and sleep with you, have a bathroom all to yourself, and you can cook in the kitchen whenever you like. Tamara is a wonderful cook, and shared many delicious Spanish dishes with us which we really appreciated! All members of the family treated us so kindly and we really want to thank Tamara and Sergio for making this possible. This was our first Workaway experience and Tamara and Sergio made us feel like home.
They were always trying to help us out with information about the area, we saw a lot from Aragon. We cooked meals together, and had talks about the Spanish and or the German culture.

The Baby was very adorable and it was super interesting to see him grow in the 4 week stay.
Our daily routine was very nice.
We could woke up when we want, we just had to plan the day, because every day you should work a little bit in the garden.
At 3:30 pm the boys arriving at home and you have to drive them to their activities, when the weather is good you could also play with them in a park in the city. That was always funny and the boys were very interested in playing and talking.
After the dinner, which you prepare with the family you could talk with Sergio or Tamara, enjoy the sunset or watch a movie.
All in all, this place was for us the best experience we could get. Thank you again, for all the nice memories and the love your shared.

Where should we even start. From the first day, when they picked us up at the bus station, they were very welcoming, and we immediately felt comfortable. Even if we were nervous to meet everybody, they instantly made us feel like a family member.
They always looked out for us and helped us if we needed something, they made sure we have everything
… read more we wanted, whether it was something for a special dish or a ride to the bus station, to see a bit of the city.
We felt like we were in good hands and Tamara and Sergio always made sure we felt like home.
When we first got to know the kids, they were very lively and energetic. From the beginning, they made us feel like their big sisters, since they were always happy to see us and didn’t hesitate to give us hugs a lot of the time. We never got bored with them, because they always had a lot of crazy ideas for games, for example building a house for the cat. They loved games where they could run around and just relief their energy, which was a workout per day for us.
Although our Spanish was on a very low level, the kids as well as Tamara and Sergio helped us improve it a lot. Eliam and Nathan also learned a bit English from us and everyone in the family can now say at least one word in German.
Furthermore, the conversations with Sergio and Tamara in the evening, when the kids were in bed, were lots of fun. Especially on the weekends we enjoyed some nice conversations, while having a cerveza! They told us a lot about Spanish traditions and Sergio knew things about the historical background of cities and buildings. Furthermore, they let us try every kind of food that is typical here, which is why we think we gained a few pounds.
After dinner on Friday and Saturday, it always felt so nice, when we watched La Voz or a movie, with the whole family!
In the mornings it was never a hurry to wake up, since Tamara always let us sleep in or told us the evening before, if she needed our help the next day (garden work, cleaning the kitchen facilities, collecting leaves, …) Our working tasks were to play with the kids after school, bring them to their free time activities and help in the house a bit, after the baby was born, we picked them up from school in Zaragoza.
On the weekends we had a lot of free time, where they gave us a lot of advice what to visit and helped us plan our “sightseeing tours”.
At this time it was a little bit difficult to see the full beauty of this area, since due to Covid19 there were stricter rules that did’t allow us to visit the bigger cities around and a lot of facilities were closed. For the workawayers who read this, we hope that everything has settled a bit more as when we were here. Even in this time, they tried their best to let us explore as much as possible, which we appreciate a lot!
Although the family of four were so much better than we expected, we were lucky to experience a new family member joining us in December (he is the cutest and prettiest baby boy)
It is very hard for us to write this review, since it means that we have to leave them! In the last two months we have locked them into our hearts, and it was a pleasure to support them in their lives. We are so happy that we made this experience here and gain some very nice and humorous people in our lives. Thank you for everything you did for us and Tamara a special thanks to you, for the delicious tortillas and coliflor, which we will adapt into our cooking sortiment.
Hopefully in a few years we can see you again and see how the boys grew bigger. Maybe by then our Spanish has evolved to a level where we can have the nice talks just in Spanish.

Nos han ayudado en tareas del jardín, la casa, cocinando y por supuesto cuidando y enseñando inglés a nuestros hijos. Los han llevado en coche a las diferentes actividades, los han llevado y recogido del colegio, han ido al parque, han hecho manualidades, han jugado en casa, han cantado...
Han tenido muchísima paciencia con los niños cuando han estado cansados y han sabido ganárselos enseguida.
Sin duda vamos a echaros mucho de menos chicas, pero nuestra casa siempre estará abierta para vosotras cuando queráis volver. Os deseamos mucha suerte en vuestra nueva experiencia workaway y en la vida!!

Han mostrado muchísima iniciativa y una gran disponibilidad. Estaremos encantados de volver a coincidir con ellos, son unas bellísimas personas.
