… read more meet his wonderful and bubbly young daughter and listen to her practicing guitar! You’ll also get to eat breakfast while looking at the sea and listen to the birds, or eat dinner in peaceful and starry night.
Christian is a very easy-going, dynamic and open-minded person. He likes to show you around and share his knowledge, culture his favorite music etc. He took us to the beach, to Ventimiglia, a breathtaking water stream/lake near his place, to get ice cream, try new food and drinks etc. You can have very interesting conversations with him and learn a lot from him and his lifestyle ! You might even start questioning some aspects of your life for the better. He has done so much in life and can tell you so many interesting stories.
Spending time with Christian is a guaranteed way to have a unique and memorable experience.

this is a good place with good energy kinda cutoff from the world yet super close to Ventimiglia, Menton and Monaco. The road to get there is breathtaking. … read more yurt which is a small stone house renovated with an effort to keep it authentic. It's just rustic and simple with all basics necessities. Being an adept of minimalism I was very comfortable with everything, and the outdoor shower top class.. The trip is to live kinda like in old times, more aligned on nature's cycles and core human needs. Not only as worthwhile or just fun experience but as an intelligent life choice. I've learned a lot from Christian, things, stuff and tricks that I now apply to my own life. He is a multi faceted person with a lot to give and share in many different domains, an open minded personality and respect for different opinions; which makes him an interesting conversation partner and a good friend to hang out with. The work is more of getting in sync with the place and what it needs, what you can do and it flows naturally; It can be everyday different.. I did some electrical work which was my lasting contribution amongst various other minor tasks; over which we had some debates as I have my own way of doing things and Christian found my pace to be little slow from his perspective, but it's also true I was more chilling up the clouds than hardworking (lol). For a conclusion I would say that if flowing in the moment talks to you, don't hesitate to contact him and see where things go... … read more issues. Elisa is a very nice person and willing to learn. She also never complains about the work which is given to her. (honestly she has been a harder worker then many other male ones which beside left without even leaving a reference ! ) She has been doing painting tasks. She learned how to use an electric screwdriver and she made with her good Crochet skills a nice wind direction sensor which works pretty well. Thank you for visiting me !!!

… read more waaay less comforts than I was used to was actually challenging, but it helped me realize that we have so many useless things in our ordinary lives.
The job was not hard (painting, general maintainance) and we always had nice music in the background!
You won't get bored spending time with Christiaan.
Long breakfasts, nice conversations, dinner around the fireplace and good wine (and beer sometimes!), morning meditations, the sound of the digeridoo... so many nice memories!

… read more 4 hours a day to cooking in the morning and evening. I live most of my time alone and so I don't go out much. So for me having company is always a good pretext to go out and visit little villages in the mountains. Amazing spots in nature such as natural lakes and beautiful stony coast. I am very difficult when it is about food and cooking. I like good food cooked in the perfect way. Well Tanya again also suits perfectly here. Just explain the right cut on the veggies and the spices to put on. Top on the cherry she even put some on her own to make the meal even better. Yes we spend a lot of time cooking breakfast and dinner. And of course we always had something to talk about. I am very happy she came to visit me and I am pretty sure that at some point she will come back. Really a great Workaway - Experience

This was hell of a good week for me :)
The first minute I arrived I was amazed by the Land. The interior of the yurt is so well put that it makes you calm and it's a great place to spend some time there for yourself. Christiaan takes care that the good atmosphere is always present.

… read more in the wilderness feels like, and what kind of approach you need to take in that circumstances. I learned that the day don't start before you go to sleep but when you wake up. Because first thing after you wake up, you have a pre-breakfast, where you have time to enjoy the nature that surrounds you. Then it follows breakfast :) and only then you start with the day. I will keep this ritual with me even now when I'm back at my home. Once you experience this great morning routine you also don't mind to start working on the tasks.
Christiaan is a good man. Somehow he knew what kind of experience I wanted and he took care that I had very good time there. The conversations with him were interesting. But we also spent some time together just by enjoying the view on the Ligurian see an the hills that are there around. That was nice as well
Even though the weather was not that great we took the most out of it. He showed me one of the greatest locations on this planet. I was amazed by the places we visit. Each day that we returned back to home I have a handful of new stories to remember for the rest of my life. I hope others can experience this too.

… read more collecting the wood while raining. Planting a few Mimosa trees in the rain. Protecting the new planted plants and trees at midnight while it is snowing and -3 outside was completely fun for him !!
Beside from this Klemen is a clean guy. enjoys good food and likes to cook. We have been around visiting mountain villages. Hiking in the snow on mountain tracks leading to rivers and waterfalls and in the evening ending up at Domenico's familial size pizzeria !!
