In June I was 1o days in the beautiful university city of Padua to take care during a short vacation of my hostess about the cozy cat Pilú.
I was invited by Isabella, an active, busy, highly educated and polyglot Italian who is very interested in communicating the country and people, culture and language of her home country and the city of Padua.

Already in advance of the trip Isabella provided me with a lot of information, suggestions for activities, information about cultural offers etc.
Even during her absence, Isabella took great care of my well-being. She was always available and provided me with new information every day.
Unfortunately, due to my state of health and my current constitution it was not possible for me to perceive all this. Therefore, I use the stay to come to rest and recover a bit.
I made the best of it, read in the cafes of the city, ate very well and let the mood of this vibrant city work on me. Also I could spend a day in Chioggia by the sea, which has done me very well.The location of the city of Padua is excellent. Cities such as Verona and Vicenza or even Venice can be reached within an hour without problems, the public transport in Padua and surroundings is excellently developed and thanks to contactless payment more than convenient.
The accommodation at Isabella is very comfortable for workawayer. You live separately on your own floor under the roof with bedroom and private bathroom. Isabella lives very authentically in an apartment building with a lot of green spaces outside the door. Within walking distance are supermarket and a small organic market, as well as an outdoor pool to reach.
From the apartment the city center of Padua can be reached within 10 minutes by bus, which is just wonderful.
My task as a workawayer to take care of the cat Pilú was very easy for me. He was already waiting for me in the morning and evening and he companied me on the balcony every evening. Otherwise he has kept it like me: eat and rest, a very relaxed animal that does not cause any problems. He is happy to be talked to and takes everything very calmly. Really extremely easy to maintain.
If it is possible to stay longer with Isabella, you can count on leaving the city as a real Italian. Isabella not only provides you with information about cultural events, but also familiarizes you with the customs and customs of the country. And you will then speak fluent Italian.
Regina left this morning after breakfast together in a pasticceria. Now she looks like a real Italian woman, she had breakfast in pasticceria every day with capuccino and brioches and tasted lot of Italian food.. She's a lovely, well educated, respectful woman. Notwithstanding we had no many days to spend together before I left for my one week
… read more holidays we talked a lot, she immediately understood my needs and she immediately loved Pilù. During the week Regina was alone with my cat, she took good care of him, of my flat and of my plants and flowers. She learned some Italian, visited the town, museums and especially experienced like a local trying all the food I suggested her. We spent her last eve here together walking and having an aperitivo (that she kindly offered to me), we took our last but not least pics together, we went shopping.
So sorry she had already to live but i hope she comes back in the future to attend an Italian class. She can speak German, English and some Italian. Tnx Regina and Miao miao miao from Pilù

I was lucky enough to cross paths with them and share a little piece of life together.
Isabella took me to see some beautiful places in Padova, as if I had my own private tour guide — except it was even better than that!

All of that, plus the places highly recommended by Isabella (I’m thinking of Bassano del Grappa), made my stay incredibly enjoyable.
And, of course, there was Pilu, the beautiful black panther, who — after a short adjustment period — let me cuddle him just as he deserves.
The apartment is great, and the bedroom and bathroom are like those in a lovely hotel!

I had the most amazing time in Padova with Isabella and Pilù. Isabella was very kind to me and did so much to make me feel at home. She was also very generous with her time in showing me around and ensuring I really got to soak up the culture. We had a really nice time together. Hosting Sophie was super!! She's enthusiastic, friendly, very tidy. I and my cat Pilù loved her from the first instant. We went together visiting museums, eating, walking, shopping, we laughed a lot together. She took care of my cat and of my home with love, she cooked for me when I came back from my short holidays, she can play piano and can sing
… read more like an angel. She just left but we already miss her a lot, Pilù looks for her and we hope, next year, to host her again. She told me about life in Australia and she can speak English, French and Spanish. So happy to have met and hosted Sophie!!Comentário

Roseann, super super tnx!!!! With her help I was finally able to have a few days visiting my cousin in Milan. Coming back home I could tell Pilu was relaxed, happy and has made a new lifelong friend. I hosted Jane, a kind girl coming from Canada, from June 10th to June 21st. She took care of my cat Pilù, who loved her immediately, and of my plants. She's a very nice girl, very tidy and responsible. It was a good experience spending some days with her before leaving for Rome where I spent one week. She sent me everyday pics and videos of my cat
… read more and I hope she never felt alone in my town. I live in Padova, she visited some museums, Venice and Bologna demonstrating a big interest in art. It was my first experience as workaway host and I was very happy about it.
I hope to have the possibility to host Jane again in the future and to keep in contact with her.
