*no availability until October. The project's goal is to teach sustainability, create community and connect people to where food comes from and it’s true value. Volunteers should be eager to learn these principles and proactively follow them.
I only take helpers from mid March or April through October.

Also I am partially disabled in one arm so I need a lot of help with housekeeping, cleaning, laundry, cooking and this is over 50% of the work required.
I also am a rare plants seed bank and seedlings producer. I am very excited about what I do and love to teach people about sustainability and have fun doing it. Join us!
Minimum stay is 4 weeks. No short term stays. This is a real learning and volunteering experience and not just a cheap way to travel, if you are not interested in learning about sustainable practices and permaculture or just want a free place to stay this is not the right place for you.

Hiking, biking, climbing, etc. and we are located in Interlaken Switzerland the Adventure Sport Capitol of the world! Also as we are in the center of Europe this is a fantastic starting point to see the rest of Europe. Bicycles are provided and will easily get you to all the fun things to do in this area.

Help needed varies with the season and abilities of volunteers but can be: Gardening (30-50%) preparing ground, transplanting, weeding, picking, watering etc. Helping with housekeeping tasks (70-50%) cleaning, laundry, making beds, cooking and even DIY projects.
I am partially disabled in one arm so I need help in all such activities.
Also conversing in Spanish if you "habla español" to help us learn Spanish better is also apriciated. Helpers are expected to help about 20hrs a week in return for accommodation and 3 meals a day.

There is a dorm bedroom in the main house basement with beds for up to two persons and volunteers have a separate bathroom and their own kitchen. We also provide bikes for you to get around on and the Public transport system here is fantastic. Note: we have cats! If you are allergic this is not the place for you. This is a non -smoking house, smoking is never allowed inside. We do not take Vegans or others with special diets or severe food allergies. Gluten free or Vegetarian is OK.

Note: this is a learning and volunteering experience and NOT just a free place to stay! If you just want a cheap way to travel and aren’t interested in the project and open to learn DON’T come here. Minimum stay is 1 month, and we never take people for less than 3 weeks unless written in last minute! We are omnivores. Please no Vegans or others with very strict dietary issues. No volunteers traveling with pets please, nor any families with children! No drugs or heavy drinking. We, your hosts, are very tidy and respectful, hard working, positive happy people and we expect the same from you. Taking helpers from late March through October ONLY, no availability other months unless specifically written in description. Note: we have cats! If you are allergic this is not the place for you.

Digital nomads are very welcome here as long as their schedules don’t conflict with the volunteer help. Basically if you can be available by 9am and your digital work doesn’t start till after 2pm it’s never a problem. The helping day is usually either mornings or afternoons: between 9:00 and 14:00 or 13:00 and 17:00.

Que buena chica! Claire was so fantastic to have here! I really miss her and hope that she will come back to us soon! Her work was exceptional and we were very quickly good friends who spend time together after work having fun as well. I highly recommend her! 6 stars!!!!

Barbara and Moray were just super workers and also really fun to hang out with. Moray is not afraid to get his hands dirty and good at solving a problem. Barbara is just the sweetest person ever and one of the best workers and cleaners I have ever had! Really great Workaway experience!

Amazing part of Switzerland and excellent hosts. Learnt a lot about gardening and cooking up some new dishes. Any work was clearly set. Comfortable accommodation and plenty to do and see. Honestly, a superb experience.

Jahiver & Carolina were really great people and so sweet. It was lovely just to have them around and they are very laid back and relaxed people. I was sorry to see them go. I hope that I will see them again...perhaps in Columbia! Buen viajes y muchos besos mi amigos!

Por lejos la mejor parte de mi viaje. Liz y Ed me hicieron sentir como en casa. Es difícil describir cuan buena fue la experiencia en Suiza pero lo recomiendo 100%. El trabajo es fácil de aprender y hacer y realmente la gente, el paisaje, el lugar, todo en general fue increíble. Gracias Liz por todo. Nos vemos en Patagonia!!

George was great to have! He was experienced already with the hostel cleaning jobs so that was a big help to me. He is also a great cook and an excellent helper in the kitchen. I miss cooking with him a lot. And he is also just a really great person and I was happy to make a new friend.

We had the most amazing time staying with Liz and really didn't want it to end! Interlaken is the most amazing town we've ever been to with so much to do and we couldn't get enough.

Paul and Katie were great. They had been working on other farms as workaways so they were very experienced already which was a great help to me. Also they were really great at the cleaning and housekeeping chores as well. We had a blast having them here and hope they come again...next time longer!!!

I was quite nervous as Liz was my first workaway experience. On the first day I was soon put at ease though, and I had an awesome time living and working with Liz and other workawayers! Would highly recommend working here to anyone lucky enough to have the chance!

Patrick was just awesome to have! Seriously! He was a great help, did every chore as instructed, never complained about anything and was also great fun to have here. We did some fun activities together as well like hikes, paddle boarding on the lake and going to the pub together. He was instantly a part of the family. Need more like him!

The work is great, the instructions are clear, and she is amazing and fun. The amazing landscapes that you will see only add to the great experience. I definitely recommend this as one of the best hosts ever!!!!

I wish that I could give Dawn 7 stars! She is so competent and easy to work with. She truely became my right hand while she was here. And we had a great time together as well and did lots of fun things as well. She totally fit in with the whole community here almost from the start! I only wish I could have kept her here!

I spent a month with Liz and it was truly an incredible experience! Liz is a great host and so much fun to hang out with, there is so much to do in the Interlaken area, and getting to eat fresh vegetables from the garden was definitely a plus. I loved my time with Liz and Ed and Nero and hope to be able to return soon!
