We have moved to The Ionian Islands Greece.
I am a surfer, recreational pilot, freediver and have sailed all over the world with my wife and son.
We now live on the shores of the Ambracian Gulf in Greece
This region is fantastic . The property is 9000 square metres and sits 50 metres from the sea.
Perfect for sailing, windsurfing, swimming, paddleboarding. 10 minutes by car is one of the top kiteboarding beaches.
Our long term vision is to create a sustainable organic, low carbon footprint retreat. Being self sufficient after some years. Living a simple but meaningful existence. I would like to move towards our own 12 volt electricity supply from solar wind and water. You can learn to pick olives and watch processing into Extra Virgin Olive oil from our own grove.(Sep to Nov)
We have a Corsair F27 trimaran. A Drascombe Dabber and a Lune Whammel and plan to get several more smaller dinghies,kayaks paddleboards etc
The slipway is 50 m from our gate and we have a small tractor to launch boats.
We don't drink, dont smoke, definitely don't do drugs. And dont want that on our place. I love nature and peace and quiet. The area around our property abounds in walking routes, mountain bike routes and there are multiple lovely little Greek Ports to sail to in protected waters.
For 2025 we are going to focus on establishing more fruit trees, Enlarging the Vegetable gardens and Chicken house incorporating a free range area.
The property we own has many fruit trees. It is truly a wonderful peaceful location. Now that we have cleared much of the property it has become more usable. We have several hammocks and a swing located on the property so you can get away from things and just chill. We are not activists for any cause arent interested in heated debates and just try to live a happy healthy sustainable lifestyle. We do eat meat but cater to all diet types. We do not have wifi for workaways. But there is excellent phone coverage.
We throw frisbee, make jam, have dinners and Braai. skateboard, hike and bike. I am old fashioned and only want people around me who have been well brought up with excellent table manners who are fastidious about their hygiene, friendly, courteous , polite but above all else must have really good sense of humour. Having a good sense of humour is a prerequisite for coming here. If you are unaware of what is appropriate behaviour when sharing living space with other people rather seek somewhere else.
Because Greece has no SPCA and there so many abandoned animals, we have acquired quite a few stray cats that need love and food.
We do not currently have usable accomodation. But are trying to acquire several caravans for the property.
So would give preference to workaways travelling in vans.
Enlarge the vegetable garden. Expand the herb garden.
It is our intention as stated to establish a retreat on the property (totally non profit) .And care for the animals we have acquired.
We are hoping to import some good like minded conversation and company. I can't give you pieces of paper to say you are a good sailor, but I can teach you to sail, having sailed the world and always been a waterman.

I have many years of sailing experience having surfed and sailed all over the world. I am more than happy to help people to sail or learn to sail and fit the work in around the sailing and exploring. I will purchase most of the food but would want travellers to prepare the food and wash up etc. The project of restoring the property is going to be such a wide ranging experience. The property is very rustic now but is just metres from the gorgeous Ambracian gulf and has numerous fruit trees. We may need to stop work to make jam from the fruit when it is ripe! And will always stop work if the conditions are good for sailing. The surrounding area is full of cultural relics and archaeological sites.

I am looking for people with a good work ethic. Polite, Courteous, Non drinkers Non smokers. With established sense of good old fashioned manners. Work we are doing is Brush clearing, mowing grass. Tiling, building, Gardening skills. Cooking skills. Concreting skills, Or just hard workers with great attitudes who like sailing and are super polite. with a great sense of humour.

Acomodação
Your own campervan or tent. I do have usable toilet and shower. Renovations are ongoing, when the house is habitable there will be better accomodation.
I am in the process of purchasing several caravans. I will buy most of the food for normal basic meals, but want the workaways to prepare it all and do washing up etc. Alcohol/ beverages are not included. Snacks are not included. If we go out to eat at a restaurant you are expected to pay for what you order. We do however take the workaways out to eat at a restaurant when we have had a good weeks work.

We are 10 km from the nearest town.
Only 5 km from Aktio Airport. Nightlife is zero unless you have a car. There are no buses. We are not walking distance to town, but very close to the water. You will need your own wetsuit and sleeping bag!

We have established several sites on our property for people travelling in campervans. Due to the shortage in usable accomodation workaways in campervans are easier to host and we welcome them.
