Hi,

Thanks a lot for your interest in my profile - I'm Christiane (Chris) from GERMANY. My friends would describe me as a trustworthy, committed and outgoing person with lots of energy. :) My husband and I have recently moved to THAILAND after having lived in ITALY for several years.

I have got various real passions in life: travelling, sports, meeting & helping others, healthy lifestyle & cooking, working around the house & garden (harvesting delicious apples) and looking after my family.

As a teenager I spent 1 year as an exchange student with a wonderful AMERICAN host family and graduated from High School. During that time I also passed the American driver's license. Since then I have been a great fan of the USA, its amazing people and am a strong believer in the truth of the following quote by Theodore Roosevelt:

“It is not what we have that will make us a great nation; it is the way in which we use it.”

When I was back in Germany my dad and I would regularly work together on DIY projects around the house.

In 2023 I worked as a volunteer teacher on a cruise ship on a round - the - world trip - the most fascinating experience.

A few years prior I went to INDIA to do volunteer work with a charity to empower, teach and educate women and girls in Rajasthan.

Earlier on in my career I founded and managed my own language school (Teddy Bears English) teaching children from the ages of 3 to 6 years English - a job which I thoroughly enjoyed :). In my free time I have taught small children at Sunday School for many years.

During my life I have travelled extensively with my family, friends or alone throughout Asia, the USA and Europe.

Why am I keen on travelling and meeting people from different cultures? Because I wholeheartedly believe in the following quote by Mark Twain: "Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did".

I am also an enthusiastic runner at distances from 10km to marathons.

I currently live in Thailand with my husband, although we also spend part of the year at our home in Germany. We have two children ages 25 and 23, one of whom lives in England and one in Germany.

I have an MBA from London Business School and have spent most of my career teaching languages as well as International Business & Management at university and college levels.

I can each English and German at all levels from beginners to advanced. I also have experience teaching English to pre-school children. I can teach Italian at beginner and intermediate levels.

Quais são suas habilidades?

I am a qualified language teacher with many years of experience teaching English and German at various levels to both adults and children. I also speak Italian proficiently and speak basic Spanish and French.

I am a qualified running coach and have run many of the top marathons including Boston, London, Paris, Berlin and Athens. The marathon in New York is also on my list :).
