I’m interested in learning and working on small holdings and environments focused on permaculture, medicinal plant growing and harvesting, preparing and preserving harvests, preparing natural remedies, building, caring for animals and everything in between. I’d like to have the opportunity to get to know hosts and other volunteers as well as exploring the local surroundings.
I make and sometimes sell upcycled clothing which brings me a lot of happiness experimenting and learning while making new unique creations from old garments and fabrics bought in charity shops. For me it is like a work of art and a process- something which which I have taken great care and time creating and not something I have only made to sell.
I am self studying herbalism and learning to forage for wild food where I live in Devon. I have always had a respectful interest and connection to the natural world, having grown up closely integrated with my surroundings. I have an understanding of the work which comes with more self sufficient living, having spent my formative years in a log cabin built by my parents and more recently living in an off grid yurt in the woods for 6 months during the winter with my partner.

My skills include:
Some experience in living an off-grid lifestyle, understanding of the work involved in being self sufficient.
Cooking- love of flavour and nourishing food.
Some experience in growing and harvesting produce.
Some experience in preserving produce.
I am happy to be independent and work alone when needed, while also being a good listener, keen to learn and work with likeminded others.
Some self taught foraging and medicinal plant knowledge and some experience in making tinctures, oxymels and other forms of extraction and preservation of benefits the plant has to offer.
