Ally and Sean (Errol) were with us for almost a month. Ally did an excellent job at the reception; she is fluent in several languages, which made her collaboration ideal. She is a responsible and very kind person who always knew how to treat the guests well.

We have just spent a great (almost) month working at the hostel, Ally on reception and Errol as maintenance/DIY man. Miguel and Majo are lovely hosts, really warm and welcoming and made us feel at home throughout our stay. Miguel even put up with Errol's sense of humour and being made to spend all his profits on tools and materials 😉

While Ally was away Erroll helped us with many jobs: fixing broken appliances, painting garden furniture, and two major undertakings: reorganising the storeroom, and clearing out and cleaning the workshop - this last was a ghastly job and Erroll got it done with great speed and skill and good grace! An enjoyable 3 weeks doing DIY and occasional gardening tasks. Excellent food provided by Val where we eat with her family most nights. The pool is nice after a morning's work. We stayed in our 7.5m Motorhome which has (just!) sufficient access but, top tip, get Val and Zoe's supervision when parking. We used the solar shower and compost toilet… read more

We spent 3 weeks with Dominico and Pierin helping to establish their eco camp. Much of the main construction had been done and it was the final stages of the build that needed to be completed. The work was varied, the organisation a little chaotic and the company fun.
We were in a fully contained Motorhome whilst other volunteers were in the rooms… read more

The important thing to forget about Sean is his name! He prefers to be called Errol. Errol is a handyman/Mr Fix-it chap. When he was with us he worked on various projects advice re cars and vehicles, putting up insulation and decorating, fixing and repairing. Peter and Louise are excellent hosts who made me feel very welcome during my 3 week stay. I carried out some diy and house maintenance tasks and nothing was too difficult and I wasnt pressurised into doing something I didn't think I could do safely. Errol (Sean) left today after a week. He's a great worker, very practical, resourceful and knowledgeable - and he is an excellent cook! Although he's not too keen on animals he was happy to help with the horses and the dogs managed to break down his reserves. I would definitely welcome him back.
