Hello!

My husband and I will be traveling together around Brazil from November until March, and we are looking for new experiences and cultural exchange. Fun fact: we met through Workaway and now we have been married almost 4 years! Felipe was a Workaway host at his non-profit in Northern Italy and hosted many volunteers from all over. We lived in the Interior of Sao Paulo for a few years, but now we are living in my hometown of Pittsburgh in the United States.

My husband Felipe is very handy and has a range of construction skills. He has a lot of experience in remodeling houses and building skate parks. He is a very good skateboarder and taught children skateboarding for over ten years. He is great with kids! He also is an excellent cook and has worked as a chef in Italy, Spain, and the USA. His specialty is mushroom risotto! :)

I, Lacy, work as an architectural designer and can offer my skills to help with design, project planning, construction drawings, etc. I have helped on many eco construction and off-the-grid projects and can offer my hands as a builder's assistant. I also have some experience gardening and love working with plants! I love to cook as well and would be a great nanny helping out with children and around the house. I also have some experience painting murals and enjoy art projects!

I (Lacy) am a digital nomad so I will continue to work on the computer while we travel. Access to steady wi-fi is important to me. My schedule is very flexible since I am a freelancer, so I can work any hours of the day and will be available to complete my workaway duties without interference. Felipe also works part time as an interpreter so he will need to take Zoom calls here and there.

Together, we love to cook and make great food. We both love to travel and meet the local people. We make friends easily and love hearing people's stories. A lot of our free time is spent skateboarding. Felipe likes to juggle, and he also plays the digeridoo. I play the agbe/shekere and also enjoy being creative and making art. We love to explore nature.

I (Lacy) am a native English speaker who is intermediate at Brazilian Portuguese. I am looking to improve my Portuguese. I know some basic words and phrases in Italian and Spanish. My husband (Felipe) is a native Portuguese speaker who is fluent in Italian, English and Spanish. He is currently working on improving his Spanish.

Felipe smokes a few cigarettes a day but is respectful and won't smoke around others if it is a problem. Sometimes we will enjoy a beer or cocktail but in general we are not drinkers.
