Hola a Colombia :)
Me llamo Svenja, tengo 28 años, vivo en el suroeste de Alemania y tengo tiempo libre de mi trabajo de noviembre a enero y tengo ganas de conocer Colombia y su gente.
Aprendí español en la escuale durante 5 años y quiero refrescar mis conocimientos de hablar e entender español mejor. Como mis conocimientos ya no son tan buenos, sigo escribir en inglés ;)

I am a very nature-loving person and happy as soon as I am outside in nature and can put my hands in the soil. In 2020, I started gardening during the pandemic and planted vegetables, herbs and insect-friendly flowers in my parents' garden. I read a lot about permaculture and tried to implement as much of it as possible. I now have over 45 pots full of perennials, herbs and strawberries on the communal terrace of my apartment and I look forward to looking after them and watching them grow every day.
It is important to me to garden naturally, not to use chemicals and to encourage the colonization of important insects.
I am happy if I can help other people with their gardening projects with my gardening knowledge and my passion for gardening.
And I'm very keen to get to know your way of gardening and living and I am already very excited about plants that I don't know from Germany.

Besides gardening, I love to cook and bake. I like to help out around the house, but I also enjoy working with my hands. I don't have any training or much experience in crafts, but I am keen to learn new things and provide support. And small craft activities with my father or the course to build a tiny house have shown that I don't have two left hands.

I also really enjoy working with children. I started babysitting at the age of 13, did 9 months of voluntary work in a kindergarten after school and really enjoy looking after the children in my family or circle of friends. I like to be creative and enjoy painting or doing handicrafts with children, I love reading to them or teaching them things.

Climate protection is very important to me. I studied marketing and public relations and have been working in an energy agency for independent consulting in climate protection since 2021. I try to live more sustainably. I'm a vegetarian, live in a small apartment and use resources carefully. The flight to Colombia will be my first flight since 2019.
As part of my work, I spent a year running projects for primary school pupils on the topic of energy and climate protection.

In my free time I like to go hiking (also for several days, I've been hiking through Black Forest for 12 days, sleeping outside in a tent or mountain shelter) or jogging, I do yoga and meditate, sometimes more, sometimes less ;) I've been on a meditation retreat at a Zen Buddhist center twice. There I went through the daily routine of the monastery, meditated in the morning and evening and helped in the garden or around the house in between.
I love reading, discovering new places, cafés and beautiful spots and spending time with friends and family.
I enjoy talking about social and political issues and I'm very keen to hear what's on your minds.

I'm looking forward to get to know Colombia and your way of living, to improve my spanisch and english and to provide my help for your projects :-)

Quais são suas habilidades?

I have done a lot of side jobs so far to earn some extra money.
In a catering company I did the dishes and helped to cook. I've cleaned, worked in an office and babysat.
During my voluntary social year I worked in a kindergarten.
I have studied advertising and market communication and worked in a Marketing Department and an Agency.
Since a few weeks I've been supporting a group of students in opening an unpacked shop in my hometown.
Before I started my internship in June in the marketing department of an Energy Agency that advises on topics such as energy system transformation and climate protection, I volunteered at a non-profit organization that saves unused food and gives it to those in need.
As I've already mentioned I like to cook and to bake and I sew a little bit.
In the last few weeks I've been sowing Carrots, Spinach, Parsnips and planting Strawberries, Parsley, Chives and Tomatoes and try more and more to implement the principles of permaculture.

  I eat mainly vegetarian food, but if I know where the animal comes from and it is not from factory farming, I also eat fish and meat.
