Hello!
We are Raphaël (34 years old) and Valentine (30 years old), a French couple from Paris traveling the world with our backpacks since September 2024. After exploring Madagascar, India, Nepal, China, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Indonesia, we are continuing our journey across Asia, New Zealand and South America, eager to have enriching experiences and meet inspiring people.
We were both lawyers in Paris but decided to leave our jobs to embrace new adventures, live unique experiences, and invest ourselves in meaningful projects. Volunteering is a way for us to learn new things, meet people, help others, and make ourselves useful.
We already had a first workaway experience in New Zealand during 3 weeks. The work was : maintening and cleaning the house, gardenning, cooking, painting and small building work.
What we can do:
Manual work: Gardening, DIY, small repairs, painting, cooking… We are motivated, versatile, and not afraid to get our hands dirty.
Languages: We can teach French and English.
Creative side: Writing, photography, social media, or content creation.
Hospitality: Welcoming travelers, helping in the kitchen, organizing activities.
Animal care: We love taking care of animals and can help with their needs.
And much more: We are adaptable and eager to contribute in various other ways.
Our experience as lawyers has instilled in us a strong work ethic, the ability to adapt to diverse situations, and the skills to learn quickly and efficiently, making us reliable and resourceful volunteers.
Moreover, Valentine has also already done volunteering for 1 month in Scotland. She worked on house maintenance tasks, painting, and creating a vegetable garden. She also volunteered for 3 months in Ireland, where she had to manage a stable (taking care of the horses, doing stable work, riding the horses, cleaning the stable, etc.).
We particularly enjoy outdoor experiences, whether it’s hiking, farm work, or ecological projects. Respectful, autonomous, and cheerful, we also value sharing convivial moments around a good meal or group activity.
